big baby and too much fluid

I have got myself in a bit of a meltdown from Googling this and need some MN reasurrance.

I had a scan last nigth to check all was ok with baby after some bleeding (turns out a small cervical erosion and nothing to worry about). I am 28 weeks. The baby is measuring 30 weeks which works out to be 91st centile. This is the same as DS so the Dr said its not out of what could be expected for me.

He then measured the amniotic fluid and this gave a value of 30 (I dont know the units). He said this is a bit high but that it was a very rough measurement, done very quickly on a little scanner. I will be seen by the consultant on Wed anyway and will have the scan repeated. The Dr was very reassuring and said all looked good with the baby in terms of movement stomach, kidneys, placenta, cord etc.
I had a GTT at 17 weeks and the results were normal. I will have another one sometime this week.
Googling excess fluid has made me terrified that there is something wrong with this baby. This is my fifth pregnancy after 1DS and 3 MC so I am probably being oversensitive?
DS was rather large and my bump was massive but no mention was made about excess fluid.

Thank you for replying. I have had a quick search and most people don't have any problems. Fingers crossed I'm one of them too

I have the too much fluid problem but a normal size baby.

Had my GTT test last week and it came back negative.

They mentioned that it could be caused by the baby not swallowing and peeing properly but as his stomach and bladder were both perfectly sized in the scan this was unlikely.

I have another appointment next week so will see what they say. I read that 50% of instances of excess fluid (polyhydramnios) is idiopathic meaning that there is no underlying cause and it has no serious effect on the baby. That is a comforting statistic?

Try not to stress yourself out too much Brew
