So I posted on here that I had a bfp last week! So nervous/ excited etc etc. had to ensure a whole hen do pretending to be on antibiotics! Eek!

Anyway so I called the doctors and the receptionist was rather snotty as she asked me "what the problem was" when I asked for an appointment. I was told that you don't normally see a doctor and that I would have to wait until 8 weeks (im about 4-5 weeks). I've got an appointment with the midwife in 3 weeks time but I can't help feeling that's ages away and all sorts might happen between now and then! Am I being paranoid?! I'm having constant cramps at the moment. It's like a dull periody cramp but sometimes it's on one side rather than central?! Should I be worried or wait until the midwife appointment? X

I think if you are worried then no harm in seeing the doctor for a chat but they won't usually worry about cramps unless it's severe or accompanied by bleeding. It could just be your body adjusting. Congrats on your BFP and try not to worry Flowers

Thank you! They are not crippling and I've had no blood. Since I found out I've just become so paranoid! Is that what it's going to be like for 9 whole months?? X

As my aunt says it's 9 months of pregnancy worry followed by a lifetime of parenting worries! It's hard not to panic about everything but try and relax a bit and enjoy it if you can.
I'm 38 weeks now and had so many worries along the way but honestly the time flies by! Stay away from Google, come on Mumsnet insteaf and don't let snotty receptionists put you off from seeing your doctor if you feel you need to!

Hiya

Congratulations!! =)

I know it is easier said than done but try not to worry. I am 34 with my first baba and I was super paranoid at the beginning - trust me it gets easier as you get to know your body.

If there is no blood or any other worrying (smelly, weird coloured) discharge then it is just your body adjusting (you will get these throughout pregnancy when your uterus starts to stretch).

Get some pregnancy vitamins containing folic acid and keep positive!
