Advice about maternity trousers

Hi ladies, just looking for a bit of advice thanks.

I'm only 10 weeks with my first and haven't put on any weight yet, but my normal trousers are already feeling uncomfortable. I suppose I am quite bloated at times, but even when I'm not, my trousers still feel quite tight. I'm not sure whether it's too early for maternity trousers though?

I haven't tried any on yet, as where we live is rural and was hoping to buy online. Alternatively, I was wondering about just getting some looser fit trousers like yoga pants, as luckily I work from home, so don't need to be smart during the week.

Any advice would be appreciated thanks :)

Twinkle but didn't they just fit like normal jeans with a massive baggy elastic bit at the front which showed under clothing? That was my experience (and tbh most of my RL mates laughed and said "yep" about that!) when I bought about week 14? I'm wearing them now at 26 weeks but they just didn't look right without a proper bump.

I have a pair of smart black under the bump maternity trousers from seraphine. I bought them for my last pregnancy and tried them on today at 10 weeks, and they fit on the tightest setting already.

I was just the same couldn't do my jeans up at 9 weeks. It did feel early to buy but what can you do if you need them you need them! I got new look underbump jeans at first. They were fine and cheap and I was grateful for the comfort. I got some Gap ones a few weeks later, which were a better fit but more pricey.

I work from home too. I'm now 22 weeks and can't recommend Mothercare's yoga pants enough. They are fantastic. I only discovered these later but they're the most comfortable thing I've ever owned!! www.mothercare.com/Blooming-Marvellous-Yoga-Pants/LU1172,default,pd.html?dwvar_LU1172_color=Navy

Squiz I found the under bump jeans were fine; over the bump didn't fit properly till about 6 months in.

Def agree with buying online and get delivered to your nearest store which is free.

Thanks Londonjen, from the description those yoga pants sound lovely :)

I'd forgotten delivery to store was free, so thanks for the reminder twinklestar!

I'm 16 weeks and I've just bought some Gap trousers with the demipanel which are very comfy. I also bought a long skirt with a fold over top but that's too loose at the moment although I think it will be nice when I have a proper bump. Otherwise I'm still just about in my larger normal trousers, with the addition of a safety pin and slightly longer tops. I need to have a good online shop today!

This is a good website for 'basics' in plain colours you only want to spend £10-15 on. I have their leggings, which are really good and a couple of dresses (useful on warm days). Their sizing is reasonably generous, buy your usual size, nothing bigger: www.purpless.co.uk/

Thanks for the link squizita, I'm liking the prices :)
