Am 17wks pg with DC2. I have always been fairly big busted (size 32G pre-pregnancy) and while I was bfing DS I was wearing H cup nursing bras. When I stopped bfing, my boobs went back to pre-pregnancy size, but am now pg again and they are ma-HOOSIVE!!!! The last week or so they have just EXPLODED in size!!!

Am currently in an H cup but it's leaving seam marks on my skin at the end of the day so going to have to go up a size.

They basically feel like they did in the early days of bfing - huge and just, full!

Are they just going to get bigger and bigger, or might they plateau at some point....

What if they end up like WATERMELONS????

Sorry for all the capitals, but WHAT THE FUCK????

Sorry, but Grin

I have no experience of this, but I can offer sympathy and cake? Cake

I remember freaking out about this was a gg before pregnant, ended up in a K nursing bra after having the baby. I thought my boobs were going to explode when my milk came in. Shock
After finishing feeding I've gone back down ...well to a HH/J pesky babies. Wink

Mine are stealth.

Before: 30DD (hard to purchase bras for, looked like an extra in a bawdy 60s Ealing comedy. Not a classy body shape.) ... 1st trimester, 32E (OK, OK, I can get some Primarni bras), 2nd edging towards 34 E (another trip to Primarni maternity and Debenhams)... today (25 weeks) even my biggest big girl bras are busting out at the seams.
Might have to go to (gasp) OLD LADY BRAS. You know the kind. Not sexy, but boy they look comfy.

I found that my cup size stabalised at around 28 weeks- so i went from a 32C to a 34 DD in that time (8-28 weeks) - now at 38 weeks i'm a 36 C/D- so my ribs have flared but the actual baps have stopped growing.. more or less..

Just go with it- not a lot else you can do!!!

rockstars12 · 03/06/2014 11:08

I can sympathise. I'm normally a 34-36G. I had to break the bank at bravissimo purchasing some unflattering non wired in a 38HH at only 10 weeks, though I did allow some room for growth with these as my tummy will get massive with twins. Under wired I just find too uncomfortable now. A 36 round would have meant buying new ones within a short space of time.
I'm scared of attempting to breast feed, my boobs are so sore and big, I don't want anything near them.

rockstars12 - is this your first? When DS was born and I was struggling to bf I spoke to a very lovely lady on the NCT Breastfeeding helpline. She was telling me that lots of women with large boobs sometiems struggle to bf at first, and she told me about a 'trick' - she suggested getting an old pair of tights and basically using them as a hammock to lift some of the boob weight away from the baby's mouth... I didn't use it in the end, but it was reassuring to hear that there are solutions and work arounds to enable you to bf, regardless of the shape and size of your boobs :)

I too have mahooosive boobs. Where is the best place to shop for parachutes bras? I'm a 36i at the mo but this is soon to increase im sure!

flipflopsonfifthavenue · 03/06/2014 11:49

I've recently discovered figleaves.com.

Have shopped on and off at Bravissimo for years, but always leave slightly disappointed.

have found that Debenhams has a good range of parachutes too

I was a 32D, about 12 weeks had to by 34DD, 21 weeks up to a 36DD/E but feel like i need a 38 at 26weeks. boobs have pretty much stopped now it's just ribs and bump growing causing discomfort.

I've ended up with mothercare maternity bras, good value for money and look a bit nicer than some of the debenhams ones, esp as will be heavily preg over summer wanted something i can wear with a vest top. debenhams you could see so much of the granny bra it was awful, i didn't realise this until i got them home, took them straight back and went to mothercare with a vest top to make sure i didn't make the same mistake.

ImAMonkeyMess · 03/06/2014 14:28

Mine started at 30E and at 33 weeks they're 32G and seem to have really slowed down if not stopped growing. I too thought they would never stop but I'm hopeful of not buying more until I get fitted for a nursing parachute bra. My back doesn't seem to have expanded this time nearly as much, but I'm pretty horrified at the cup size...

yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 03/06/2014 16:47

Buggerboo, the only place I managed to get bras apart from bravissimo is "Royce" got 2 nursing bras from there, not the prettiest but served their purpose well but pretty expensive.

yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 03/06/2014 16:54

And rockstar, if you are feeding when out, you will need 2 hands best advice is put changing bag on your knee, put a blanket on it then the baby, gives you some height to work with, and muslin stuck under your bra strap for less nipple flashing Wink
Also buy a manual breast pump if you can to help when your milk comes in, as i found the sheer bulk of hard heavy boobs and a lazy feeder baby unbearable, the pump was a godsend! and learn to feed lying down. Grin

Minesril · 03/06/2014 20:26

Huh. I was looking forward to my tiny A/Bs to actually grow during pregnancy. Have they? Not so much.

AnythingNotEverything · 03/06/2014 20:33

I dropped a boob on DD's head the day my milk came in. She was fine.

I was a 32G, up to a 34K, and now somewhere in between while doing 4-5 feeds a day.

If you're big, don't worry - it's perfectly possible to feed discretely in public. A vest with a loose top over is great, and don't worry about using both hands to move your nipple towards baby. In 7 months DD has never latched herself on - I always put the boob to her, rather than her coming to the boob, but she wouldn't find it otherwise.

The rugby hold is good, as is feeding lying down. In public I rest my boob on my upper arm and the baby.
