Avoid standing on one leg as much as humanly possible e.g when getting out of car swing both legs out together. Keep knees together at night e.g hold a pillow between them when rolling over, tie legs together with scarf if necessary.

Great thank you. Is it true I shouldn't sit on the sofa in a slumped position?

Psysio will help. I was given a belt which us a big help when walking. Read in here the other day that reflexology can help so planning on booking in somewhere! Also could try pregnancy Pilates....

As above says and don't cross your legs when sitting down either. It's bloody difficult, well it is for me. I found getting a wee foot stool (it's about 3 inches tall) and making sure I plant my feet on it firmly when I sit down helps a bunch.

hey there! i am in my 13th week and totally burdened by pelvic pain. it usually gets bad if i stand or walk for too long and when i wake up in the morning. The doctor said its just the uterus expanding and nothing to worry about (right!! what about the pain??) she prescribed paracetamol if it got intense and calcium. I find pillows to be helpful with this. i've started sleeping with four pillows all on different places and one between the legs when sleeping on my sides. Just try to lie down when the pain comes.it usually goes away after a bit.but if it's getting bad, you must tell your doc. he/she might also suggest some excercises which have helped alot of women i read.

I don't think slumping is the cause, but you might find you feel more comfy sitting on an upright chair like a dining chair as it will be easier to sit with your knees together and get up smoothly with your weight evenly on both feet. basically your pelvis is unstable due to relaxing of the ligaments which hold it together, but if you get in the habit of moving carefully now it hopefully won't get too bad.no jogging, breaststroke or one legged yoga poses!

What does this feel like? Never heard of this. I am 30weeks and definitely feeling more pressure down below, it's quite painful and I thought it might be a UTI. How do you know if you have this?

flymo79 · 03/06/2014 09:53

bigpants it feels like you've been hoofed right in the pubic bone by a horse!! it is an ache/pain/bruised feeling due to the relaxation of everything around the pelvis, including the pubic symphisis. You'd probably know if you were getting it

SaggyAndLucy · 03/06/2014 09:56

1/ cry.
2/ go buy a Nexcare bump support belt and wear it as much as you can.
3/ get some physio or osteopath treatment.

4/ Get a maternity slide sheet like the Snoozle
5/ Try acupuncture
6/ Take it easy

Thanks all. Not pgp says physio but sacrum illium out of alignment apparently. Physio really helped.
