Went back to work after half term, and it wasn't too bad. I bought in a big bag of snacks and munched my way through them. There was only a couple of times I felt nauseous and was retching. Home now but I'm absolutely knackered x

Teacher? I was back today teaching at a secondary school after half term, managed too!

Hooray! The drive there and back was the worst and am absolutely wrecked now even after an hours nap. As soon as the clock hit 3 I literally ran to the car park pushing kids out the way!

Still don't know how I'm going to manage another four days, one day at a time....

Well done to both of us!! x

Yes teacher - Reception. I'm currently on my sofa relaxing. I'm trying to stay awake until at least 9pm. We will get through it - 7 weeks and 2 days left x

Seems like so long doesn't it.... I'm going to make a countdown calendar tomorrow.

Let me know how you get on all week, because I'm just dreading mine x

Noappointmentnecessary · 02/06/2014 20:45

I will do - good luck hon. We can do this and in less than 8 months (for me) our babies will be born x

Got through a day of Y11 exam prep. DH bought me takeaway when I got home: eating for two, too bloody right tonight!!!

Donkle · 02/06/2014 22:05

I'm due January 12th, when are you both thinking of taking your maternity leave? x

RetroHippy · 02/06/2014 22:36

I've had takeaway 4 days running now Blush just cba to cook.

Today's teaching was a pile of shite. And I'm getting observed next week. If it goes badly I guess I can cry and plead hormones...? Staff meeting tomorrow, sure someone will comment that I'm sat stuffing my face with hobnobs. Had to go home at half 4 today cos I was hungry and had eaten my huge lunch. Usually stick around till kicking out time at half 5.

RetroHippy · 02/06/2014 22:37

And Donkle, I'm not going back after Chridtmas; due 26th Jan.

MrsCK · 03/06/2014 06:43

I survived too! with no vomiting! I'm not planning on going back after the Christmas holidays. ..due end of January

Noappointmentnecessary · 03/06/2014 18:00

Hi - according to an app I am due 23rd jan - I plan on going back after crimbo. Also, have you told your boss yet? I'm looking to tell him once I have been for my scan. I feel so bad about it though x

Really bad day. Have the mother of all migraines, if it doesn't shift by tomorrow it's going to be a sick day.

Told boss and head two weeks ago as had an ectopic scare and had to have a few days in hospital... Don't feel guilty, I've only just moved to this school in September after a few years at another.

A lot of my sixth form students have left so I'm just spending time hiding in various quiet spots around school, fearing any form of social interaction.

I'm hoping to take maternity starting Christmas holidays and go back for summer term.

MrsCK · 03/06/2014 18:19

How did you tell your headteachers? my HoD knows but was going to wait for a scan until I tell the headteacher.

Donkle · 03/06/2014 18:28

I just knocked on his office door and we had a chat, he was 1000% more supportive than my hod and we have a cultural 'thing' at our school where after any sick days you go see him and say what was wrong.

Thought I might as well, doesn't really make any difference to me. I certainly don't want any other staff or students to know until September, I won't be announcing it after 3 months. But I thought, well I've had that ectopic scare and if something happens he will need to know anyway.

It's actually taken away so much stress and anxiety just getting it out there.

ImBrian · 03/06/2014 19:41

2nd day back here and we've had new head teacher candidates in school. All over now so just need to wait for the imminent ofsted phone call! I'm due 26th November and going up to due date I have no sense

cupofteaplease · 03/06/2014 19:50

I'm a teacher in primary. I'm 33 weeks with my 4th, having a section at 38+ weeks (getting my date tomorrow!) so I 'only' have 4 weeks and 3 days left in school until maternity leave. I'm a bit tired this evening and my feet have swollen immensely from being on my feet all day!
Good luck for tomorrow, everyone!

MrsCK · 03/06/2014 20:01

We had the big O day I got my BFP! ! nausea did not help issues at all!! I read on the NUT website that schools have to provide somewhere for you to rest and lay down. have any of your schools provided you with a lay down room?!

Petal26 · 03/06/2014 20:32

We don't have a lay down room but the stress got to me on a day where we all got observed before half term and I laid down in the resource room for a few minutes (bad sickness day and then observation in the afternoon)
I'm primary, due 9th November and aiming to work until October half term, I'm part time already as this is baby number 2 so hopefully I can manage to 37/38 weeks!

MrsCK · 04/06/2014 14:31

got a bit much with the nausea, vomiting and fatigue do left early today. felt massively guilty although only had lessons where students were out on a trip so no teaching needed. just feeling awful!!

ImBrian · 04/06/2014 18:57

I have threatened to lie down in the staff room before but I still don't have a lie down room.
