Hi all,

I have a 2 week holiday booked for tenerife in october and at the date we fly i will be 30 weeks, so i will be flying home at 32 weeks. Being so far gone at that point is it still safe for me to fly? And does any anyone have any advice on what to avoid/making the most of my holiday?

Thank you :)

It's so much whether it's safe ( I'm sure it will be fine) but the first thing you need to check is that the air line will let you fly. Iirc the cut off point is later so I think you'll be fine. You will need a fit to fly letter from your mw and she will recommend flight socks as you will be at a high risk of dvt.

Omg sorry meant to say higher risk not high! :)

If your pregnancy is uneventful, then yes you can fly at that time.

Airlines follow the WHO guidelines in requiring a MW/doctor's letter from 28 weeks, with a cut off of 36 weeks (singleton) and 34 weeks (multiple).

Hiya I'm hoping it's ok to fly at 32 weeks because I've got a trip to Italy planned in July. I'm hoping that because it's a small two hour flight I'll be ok. ??

Don't worry - for single pregnancies you are permitted to fly up to 36 weeks so long as you get a fitness to fly cert from the Doctor. We flew at the beginning of May and I was 30 weeks, came back at 32 weeks and no problem. The airline never even asked for the certificate after the hassle of trying to get it from the Doctor. I found it ridiculous you had to get this from the Doctor but they never even met you to check blood pressure etc.... and wanted £30 for the service!

In an uncomplicated pregnancy it should be fine to fly but check your insurance, I couldn't get insurance to cover me after 28wks.
