Does anyone have a recommendation for a nice but affordable changing bag?

I have the free one from boots, going to give that a go before we buy one. You can get it by joining boots baby club and they send you lots of different vouchers. One of them will be for the changing bag, you do have to by some nappies to get it, but we would be buying those anyway.

It's a plain black bag, so nice and neutral. It had a foldable changing mat inside and seems to be a good size.

I think the skip hop range have quite a few nice ones.

I used the boots free one, but after six months it looked really manky. I wish I had just bought a nice one from the start.

I used the boots one first time round but really resented it after a year or so. We were skint so it was a case of having to make do. It does the job fine but if you can afford something nicer then I would say it's worth getting it.

I've got a babymel one now, picked it up for £40 in a sale.

Any old big shoulder bag does the job though.

I've just both a Kanken rucksack because I want to use a sling a lot so need something easy to carry and I want something DH will carry too. I've got a skip hop changing station fold up mat thing to go in it and am going to get a couple of zip up pouches to store essentials. I'm not really sure why changing bags are essential, but maybe once the baby comes I'll find out!

We found the boots one too small, my dd was forever exploding out of nappies/ being sick so needed at least 2 changes of clothes!
We had this www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B004EBK740/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?qid=1401641964&sr=1-11
It's fab, has 3 big zip sections, comes with a mini changing Matt, has the short 'handbag' straps and a long over the shoulder strap, my dp didn't mind using it either.... Highly reccomended!

I love my bag. It's a black and white one. Black with different white animals on. It fits everything I need plus more for my 2 yr old and 6 month old but does not look massive. It was £20 from kiddie care.

I've just ordered one from babymel. They look lovely.

You will use it everyday for over a year so worth getting something practical that you like.

Been through this several times now,, and unless it is a bag you really love I really would not bother. I would get a normal but large bag. Seperate ziplock bags inside for nappies and other such things. Insulated bag for bottles if you want to. I have one made from oilcloth and is doing well!

Buttercup, that sounds like my link!! I'm fairly sure it is ;)

hubbahubster · 02/06/2014 08:24

Another vote for 'don't bother' here. I had a drawstring bag from Cath Kidston with DC1's stuff inside my usual handbag, much easier than faffing about with a big changing bag plus my own stuff. Maybe wait and see whether you really need one.

Thanks everyone
