I was expecting a stretch and sweep today but midwife told me that i had a posterior cervix - has anyone else been told this? Did labour come on naturally despite of this?

Hi Mormon, I was told this and booked in for an induction for the next week, but my DS came naturally the day before I was to be induced. I think I was 13 days overdue.

DS1 - I was 40 weeks exactly and went into labour 8 days later.
Ds2 - I had been having contractions for an hour or so, when I was examined my cervix was posterior. Ds2 arrived a couple of hours later.

Having a posterior cervix doesn't mean labour will come any sooner or later, it just means your midwife couldn't reach it to do the stretch and sweep. Don't worry about it - very unimportant in the grand scheme of things!
For future reference, it can make your cervix more accessible if you put your fists under your buttocks when you lie down - it tilts your pelvis forwards a bit.
Good luck!
