Soz this is a bit of a moan but, I'm nearly 28 weeks pregnant have fibronyalgia and spd,I'm in agony can only sleep sitting up and trying to look after a 3 year old is nie on impossible, I am a high risk pregnancy due to bmi, factor v lieden bp probs etc and all this on top I'm losing the will to live, has anybody heard of a c section being brought forward from 39 weeks as I can't survive another 11 weeks of hell, I know its best for bubs to be in aslong as possible but seriously in agony and fed up! Seeing consultant in 2 weeks would she agree to it or I it not worth mentioning?

Hi couldn't walk away not not respond. hugs yes mention the pain etc to your consultant ask about all options and talk to your midwife for advice. I'm not an expert, but also a high risk, it's nor a moan if it's playing on your mind. Thanks

frankiebuns · 31/05/2014 15:26

Thankyou, my midwife is great and doubts highly I will get past 34 weeks but registrars etc seem to brush me off and have every confident I'll get to 39 weeks, but i m fed up in pain. The registrar at the hospital said that if I had her now baby would be in scbu and id bed in hospital yes I know but id feel better! My spd would go my bp would drop and my factor v lieden symptoms would dissapear up there own backside!

Have you told mw about the registrars? It may be worth asking when you nextgo up to see them to see the consultant, you may get along better and have understand ing.

frankiebuns · 31/05/2014 18:26

My midwife keeps saying I'm iller than they think and the consultsnts should know I'm high risk but after 5hrs each week I'm sent home with a pat on the bqck and told if I feel worse phone up, they ,ake me feel a fraud my bloods were all below normal levels but now mid normal so def creeping up, I feel like I can't go on, somethings going to give, currently sat on a chair cooking tea as I cant stand up for more than 10 mins. I know its best for bubs to stay in but feel like no one is listening

Frankie, you need to really stand your ground (harder said than done, I know) tell them they are not listening if they are still obstructive talk to higher, and don't stop. If your unwell baby won't be well either. Tell them how they are making you feel and if you still feel like this speak to pals at the hospital. Ask your mw if she can write or speak with the consultant on your behalf about your treatment. Is there anyone else you can ask.to help you at home?

frankiebuns · 31/05/2014 19:43

My mum is being great and having ds in blocks, but deffo suffering, got midwife Wednesday so might just cry at her, I see different consultants etc each time, I was treated horrendously last time and dnt want to winge too much just incase I'm black marked! Although I'm not having another baby after this my haematology consultant urged under no circumstances do I get pregnant again!grrrr sum times the consultants regustrars look at current levels not the big picture I now ask for copies of blood results now to compare sum levels have gone up from below 73 to 93 which is well within normal but if u look at bigger picture its gone up 20

I'll let you in on a small secret I was told 6 years ago I only had a 5-10% chance of ever conceiving a child naturally I'm now expecting a dad in 4 weeks. Definitely talk to the midwife about getting you to be taken seriously and about some additional support. As for black mark don't worry about it, you are 28 weeks pregnant you are allowed some hysterics. Ask to see the same registrar or consultant where possible to try and get some consistency( talk to the health care or nurse at the clinic about it they are really awesome and caring). Sorry I have no heamatology knowledge only endocrine. If you want to pm me for a chat or anything just get in touch. Hugs

frankiebuns · 31/05/2014 20:54

Thankyou, all the last consultant I saw told me dnt cry you make me look like a bad person to others! I'm hoping if I pour my heart out to my midwife she might phone registrars for advice, I plucked up the courage to ask the registrars a question my midwife wanted me to ask and I was told who knows might be full term might be next week! I know they can't see into the future but sumone sumwhere will know, I fear that if I cry n get emotional she will send me up to day assesment for 5hrs just to be told same again! Grr

Look don't let them dictate to you. If you want to cry cry. Scream bawl whatever it's your life. As I keep telling my dhs mom it's my pregnancy and its not like any of yours. Unless they have your conditions and been.pregnant they have no clue how you feel. Your mw if anything like mine (which she sounds like) will be having a fit at them very soon!

frankiebuns · 31/05/2014 22:23

Yes my first midwuife was very blunt it took us 18 months to concieve and she kept saying the baby isn't viable u shouldn't of dun this! Well I did might have a mini break down on Wednesday

As someone said: everything happens for a reason. Forget those who have insulted you and the baby and think positive. If needs be talk to the head of the mw team and clinic site manager about your treatment get pals involved. You need to focus on you, the baby and 3 year boy. As I said I'm around if you need a moan.or cry.

SellyMevs · 31/05/2014 23:09

Hi frankie,

I can sympathise with you so much. I have M.E. With fibromyalgia tendencies, so I suffer with a lot of chronic muscle aches. I have also had pelvic pain from about 10 weeks. I can't imagine how crap you must feel, but I know how much I can suffer and I bet it must be so hard for you.

I'm struggling to get them to decide birth plans for me now. At 17 weeks the consultant made it clear how at 28 weeks it all needed to be in place so everyone knew the score, I have a rare clotting disorder and it's really affecting my options, particularly as no one really knows much about it. 28 weeks has come, and the last consultant just declared it was all down to my haematologist. It's so hard to voice your own concerns when you just want to cry with the pain and frustration!

I'm almost 29 weeks now. It's looking like I've got gestational diabetes and I feel so guilty when I think how I might get induced just a few weeks earlier now. I just want to be able to cut up in bed again!

Keep strong.. I'm trying to write a question list for my next appointment. Have you tried this?

frankiebuns · 01/06/2014 09:09

I've tried so hard, to do one but they usually cover it or say its a waiting game no one knows! I'm a bit like I need to know, I was lucky to get to 24 weeks but feel like I'm giving up I think I'm going into a fibro dip which doesn't help one bit!

OP posts:
Geminiwitch22 · 01/06/2014 16:48

Frankie: Sorry I don't know what a fibro dip is. I am having the same problem no one knows a lot about Graves Disease in Pregnancy and they are playing everything close to their chest, everything I know is from doing my own research (which they do not like) and throwing it in their faces. I agree with Selly about writing down all the questions you need/want to ask and refuse to leave until they give you an answer.

Selly: I have GD plus a couple of other conditions, but not as bad as either yourself or Frankie. It is NOT YOUR FAULT you have GD, if you are at risk you are at risk and there is little to nothing you can bloody do! If you are a high risk pregnancy to begin with they would have been thinking inducement early on anyway.
HUGS to you both and I am thinking of you both.
