Transverse lie at 36 weeks - any advice/experiences?

Hi, wondering if anyone can offer any words of advice?

I'm 36 weeks pregnant with DC#2. DD#1 is 20 months old and was born at 40 weeks by planned c-section as my womb is a wonky shape and she was trapped transverse. I was admitted to hospital following a presentation scan at 37 weeks and so had to stay in hospital for 3 weeks before docs gave up on baby moving and letting me have a planned section. It was a stressful time as I was in a very busy London hospital and saw a different consultant every day who told me something different, and I was constantly told that if I felt any twinges/my waters broke I had to be rushed to theatre for an emergency section regardless of whether hubby was there or not, etc.

Fast forward and - guess what? DC#2 is transverse at 36 weeks. I have a presentation scan at the hospital in just over a week and my midwife suspects they will want to admit me and keep me in for two weeks and give me a planned section at 39 weeks. Turning the baby is not an option as it is my weird womb shape that is trapping the baby, and the risk of cord prolapse is too great.

I'm very torn about spending a fortnight away from my 20 month old when I am her main care-giver. But I also don't want to put the new baby at risk. I have a meeting with the consultant next week and am trying to research my options. Can I ask for a later admission date than 37 weeks? Perhaps going in at 38 weeks? Or can I ask for an earlier c-section - say at 38 weeks rather than 39 weeks, so that I am only away from my daughter for a week? Feeling a bit sad and fed up, although I am focusing on the baby and the main thing is that he/she is healthy and happy right now.

Thanks in advance for any help.
