I've had pelvic pain for about a month, a few days ago i got thigh pain and last night i got pain inmy left hip. Up to now all the pain has been on my right side. Does this mean ny body is gearing up for labour? The thought of this pain getting worse for a full 4 or 6 weeks is upsetting.

I'm doing my final shift of volunteering today which is making me sad. I finush work next week and i'm pretty annoyed i have to work for that long.

I really want the baby here so I can see him and be a parent.

I just feel all emotional and low and guess I just want to offload and get some support.

babys prpbably engaging...i had awful pressure in my hole pelvic region amd pain last week and hardly any movement wich hD me worried as im only 32wks, but then he turned back around at weekend :)

My last pregnancy he was practically engaged from 32 weeks and as he was my second baby they said he wouldn't become fully fully engaged as they bob up and down more.
I remember at 36 weeks feeling inside and his head was so low I could feel it through the wall very clearly. He didn't come until 6 days overdue in response to a second sweep. (Dragged it right through the hot summer and came 6th August)!

I had Braxton hicks from 13 weeks and spent many evenings timing them towards the end but they always tailed off.
He liked to play games with me.

Maybe you're completely different and it's heading that way but I think until you're getting proper contractions I'd give up trying to work out what your body is doing lol x

The hip pain I would think is baby engaging and pushing on a nerve or something.
Signs of labour are obviously contractions, nesting, diarrhea, a show (discharge) and decreased but not stopped fetal movements x

I had loads of pelvic pain around 36wks with DS, was also the week before I stopped work. Midwife said she could refer me to a physio but more than likely the baby would come befor emy apt came through! Was much better once I was on mat leave as wasn't schlepping on the tube etc. Was pretty grim though and I too worried that i'd have it for the reamining weeks of pregnancy :(
Hope you feel better once you're no longer at work and can take things slower and rest a bit more

Thanks guys. I'll mention all this at my midwife appt next week. I plan to spend my maternity leave asleep on the sofa or on the sun lounger.

Ouch! I remember it well from DS1 nearly 6 years ago.

Maybe have a look at a website like Spinning Babies (which is hilarious anyway so might cheer you up) and try some of their ideas for optimal fetal positioning, it might just ease up the pain by shifting baby's head off a sore spot. Thanks

Hmmm hate to disappoint you but I'm 39+3. Had SPD since about 14 weeks starting in my bum (felt like sciatica/pinched nerve) then hips and pelvis and shooting down my left hip. At about 32 weeks it intensified and am unable to move from the couch on some days. Her head has been very low. Am 2cm dilated but no contractions. Had a sweep yesterday. Nothing happening! I wouldn't be surprised if I end up going for another sweep next week which I have booked in.

Sorry you're so uncomfortable. It really does get torturous towards the end. I have been in tears most days just wanting it to be over.
