I've done a couple for 4 hour stints for check ups before, in my hospital anyway that is about how long it takes for your blood test results to come back.

Better to be safe than sorry? If you've got protein in your urine then they need to be all over it, the MW couldn't run the risk of not sending you to get checked out.

I must admit I don't go near the ante natal ward without a good book and and handbag full of supplies as it's never a quick trip in and out (my last visit was 3 days!!).

Hope you're feeling better soon OP

Thankyou, I had all the symptoms of pre eclampsia first midwife who saw me at the hospital started spouting gobbledy gook at me and as fathers of the two kids were different no wonder I was having trouble, I went nuts no the father is same for both thankyou she then realised she had divulged the person opposites notes to me then got shitty with me for not realising yes it was all the same up until father point!

Sounds like the notes mix up once there is the only problem. Not being sent anywhere. There is a supervisor of midwives you can ring/email and complain if you need - they'll be on your NHS trust website.

FWIW I think it's much, much better to be whisked off for several check ups and all turns out OK even with wasted hours, than be sent home only to have to come back in fear/pain later. That's why they do it.
