You just call them and update but baby has to be registered

Can I ask What are these and who's entitled..?

Sorry to jump in on your thread, but we have a household tax credits claim, where dp on who the letters are addressed to etc. DP receives child tax credit for his dd, my dsd who lives with us, though it just goes into the joint account. Can I be the named receiver for my childs tax credits when the baby comes?

I don't mind that cb and tax credits for her are in his name, but I get annoyed that council tax and bills all assume he's the one they send things to- and won't talk to me -.- So I want things for the baby to be in my name!

No you would have to have a joint tax credit claim if you live together

Foxeym · 20/05/2014 10:20

No the baby will just be added to the claim that is already running as one household payment

gunwalloe · 20/05/2014 10:32

Alita are you not on the household claim? HMRC send me and hubby the same letters and I'm the worker

gunwalloe · 20/05/2014 10:35

As for CTax and bills you can easily get added by your hubby phoning them if you are the one that deals with the finances it's better if your on them

Hi sorry to jump on board but just wondering if anyone can tell me any information on what tax credits are available and who too as I can't seem to find any straight forward information. When DC was born 2 years ago are finances took a desperate slide whilest I was on maternity and I ended up going back to work early. As far as I can see were entitled to nothing as we both work full time. I've just found out I'm expecting #2 and I'm completely terrified about the financial side of it. (It makes labour look like wee buns at the minute).

This website is great for checking if your entitled to anything if you want to know what you may be entitled to when the baby's born just put the date of birth as yesterday

I'm on the claim but we get one letter addressed to him. We also have issues with bills as they refuse to have us both named so they won't talk to me and won't let him pay as only I have a joint account card which is obviously in my name so we have to keep passing the phone back and forth :p I hate how the council, hrmc and bills companies and even our landlord (who even emails dps email instead of mine even when he is replying to one of my emails) automatically assume that because he is the man they talk to him... and I'm not even a feminist! anyway I went off one a bit apologies!

Regarding the bills, the only one I have failed to get sorted was the tv licence. Everything else I have managed to get them to speak to me on. DH's car insurance i do over the internet.

We don't have a joint account.
