Anyone got any good tips for staying cool in this heat? I am currently sat in my back room with a fab on and wiping my body with cold baby wipes! I can't seem to get cool so sweaty! This is then resulting on swollen puffy feet and ankles!!!!!!!

I used to find sitting with my feet in cold water helped both cool me down and stop the swelling of my feet and ankles.

I learnt on MN last year to open the loft hatch. It makes a huge difference in the house.

bowl of ice under the fan. Water spritzer.

I don't cope with the heat well when not pg, Ive already joked about hiring an air con unit but Im not really joking!! It makes me feel ill as does my ds so I might look into that!

Feet in cold water sounds a great idea.

I was pregnant last summer during the heat wave and spent most of the time in my ds paddling pool! I used to sit outside at night with my feet in it and a pile of icepops next to me. It was heaven!
Am pregnant again and will be over the summer so you can guarantee another bloody heat wave Grin

Run your wrists under the cold tap for a minute or two. It takes away the hot sticky feeling all over for a bit.

If you have to sit anywhere hot for a long time - like commuting on an unair-conditioned hell train (SW trains, I'm looking at you) ab ice pack helps a lot! I wrapped on in thin fabric and put it down my back whilst commuting when heavily pregnant last summer.

I was pregnant summer before last and found cool baths really helped

I learnt this one from a roman - get a fine mist spray bottle and spray yourself then go in front of the fan or find a breeze.

It also works in action - The guy I first saw doing this wore shorts , and sprayed the air in front of him as he walked.

It's very effective and pleasant.

I second the wrists! I do it all the time if I feel a bit nauseous/faint/hot, a nurse told me it helps cool you as main veins etc are closer to skin surface here

Move to scotland - it's frecking cold and wet here!

If you work in an office/at a computer all day, you can get a USB powered desk fan quite cheaply online. Combine with a water spray on neck/collar area.

From my experience.

Buy garden chair, parasol and a large fan (the latter for indoor use obv). The vertebrae agreemwithnthe weather will take a turn for the worse and none of the items will get any use.

Oh good grief. Autocorrect and fat thumbs strike again..
