SCH experiences anyone?

I am 6w +4, and have a history of RMCs. I had a bleed last night so was obviously expecting the worst, but a scan today revealed a baby with strong HB, and a haematoma.
I was advised to take at least 2 weeks off work, avoid exercise, get treatment for the severe vomiting I am experiencing, and above all to REST.
I was just wondering what everyone else's experiences were?
How crucial is rest? Prognosis with RMC history etc.

Hi, I developed an sch at 11+6. Haemorrhaged in the middle of the night and expected the worst, but no, baby fine, but pretty large sch over my cervix.

I bled red/brown for a further 5 weeks, then it stopped. I still have the sch now at 29+4 but it is "clotted' and slightly smaller.

I have been off work since my hemorrhaged and was on total bed rest whilst bleeding and for a few weeks after.

Opinion/knowledge is abit divided between doctors on whether bed rest really helps, but for me, I felt hugely better for it because it was the only thing I could do to try and take control. I also drank loads of water to keep the uterus calm.

Generally, the prognosis with sch is good... They typically resolve over a period of weeks/months. There are some sad outcomes, but many more good ones.

Thanks for that.
I'm really worried about how to rake that amount of time of without telling someone about my pregnancy. Mt boss would be fine, but given the RMC history, would rather not tell people and then gave something yo wrong. However have to somehow, as I cycle 3 miles to work, and don't drive!
Also the more I read / hear, the more I want to hide under the duvet for a few weeks

Don't read! I had bleeding at about 9 weeks, I think it was, and was terrified. Also a SCH, which I immediately googled and convinced myself everything was terrible. 2 weeks later, it had reabsorbed itself. My doctor was so unconcerned but that didn't help. She said although it's not a 'normal' thing in pregnancy, it's so so common, often is just leftover blood from implantation of the baby. I was told it could bleed out a little too, which it did, but now I'm just going past 20 weeks and baby is healthy.

I wasn't put on total bed rest, but was told absolutely no exercise, no walking or standing for more than 15 minutes, plenty of water, no sex or 'relations' as my doctor put it and no lifting, just to avoid any strain.

Hope you feel better soon!

I would definately suggest avoiding the cycling. Most docs will advise as a minimum pelvic rest.

I totally understand how terrifying those early weeks are, and I scared myself senseless with google tales.... And horrific outcomes.

However, there are some really good support groups for sch sufferers which may help you.

I am on this one babyandbump.momtastic.com/pregnancy-groups/142576-sch-group-subchorionic-hematoma-322.html with lots of lovely ladies who have been in your position, and there are others on Babycentre and Yahoo I think.

Take care of yourself.
