Hi Ladies,

Does anyone have any tips on how to cope with morning sickness? I never had this with my first child so I'm really struggling from the minute I wake up?

Thanks

Haha that's really made me chuckle ' yes I've tried ginger biscuits' ! I don't know how you all put up with it for such a long time.. I really hope mine doesn't last this long. I can't find the energy to put any makeup on! :-/ x

I had Hyperemesis gravidarum with my first pregnancy. I could not keep anything down at all including water on bad days. I found that Canadian Dry ginger ale helped a lot. I was very suspicious before I tried it but very small sips of it helped huge amounts. I also found that Love Hearts and Refresher sweets - the little chalky things - were really helpful too, especially on car journeys. I used to eat a packet on the 30 car journey to work and a pack during the day at work. Somehow, the car journey home was bareable - I think I was probably asleep! I hope you find some relief. :)

Hope it does get better, has anyone mentioned those travel sickness bands, I think they helped first time, although not so good for second pregnancy.

These stories of sickness and work are good, they don't tell you now to manage vomiting at work in many baby mags! I found it stressful that I only seemed to know I was going to vomit about 15 seconds before it happened..is this meeting room anywhere near a toilet? (preferably one in it's own room, not a cubicle, where a colleague would hear)...

Move around slowly, I found moving too quick made me feel worse. Alos having a sweet to suck on helpd me feel less sick.

Or sipping water.

I had hg when I was pregnant last year, it lasted from week 7 to week 27. When the toilets on my floor at work were closed I threw up on the stairs in my rush to find the next ladies loo. I also bought nappy sacks early and carried those and was sick in them twice during my commute. I puked everywhere.

In the end I ended up on Stemetil and having to take dioralyte and thankfully avoided being in EPU on a drip. Still heaved all the time but at least I could keep food and water down.

Foods that I could keep down or at least wanted to eat:Ice lollies, Frazzles and pineapple, hot and sour soup, cream of tomato soup. Fizzy water was the best thing ever. San Pellegrino's profits must have shot up thanks to me

An ice-lolly every morning for breakfast before I even lifted my head off the pillow. That's the only thing that got me out of bed. I found coke made me worse, but sipping vitamin-water was OK. I lost 5kg. I've put it all back on mind...
Mine was awful until 14weeks, and nasty but bearable until 18weeks. I'm now 29weeks and feel pretty good.

Really suffering with ms this time round. Peppermint tea made with fresh mint is the only thing which gives me any relief. Happily it's the season for it.
I try to wat a little as I'm drinking it, as as others have said, eating often helps.
Doesn't help that I'm craving meat, but carbs are the thing that doesn't make me puke...
I also gave never been sick in a pregnancy before, and really not enjoying this...
Wishing you better soon x

Hello,
one of the best tips that helped with my morning sickness was the No To Morning Sickness tea, I used to drink it every day, I also used to eat eat frequently but in small quantities.
I hope you feel better.
