Soooo... I am 12 weeks pregnant. A fairly unremarkable pregnancy so far- no sickness etc for which I am grateful! However the past 3 weeks when having a poo I appear to have a lot of muscas (sorry tmi!) coming out also. No blood. It's getting slowly worse. I also have had bad tummy pains and have been very windy- my husband is a lucky man! Never had this with dd so just wondering if it is common or something I should be seeking medical advice for. Apologies to them having a late tea/supper! Any advice gratefully received

I also push out mucus when passing hard stools. Mentioned it at my appointments, no one thought it unusual. Guess its one of those things!

Thanks for replying, it just wasn't one of those conversations I fancied having with any of my rl friends!

Are you constipated? Mucus production increases if you are.

I think these vitamins and folic acid we take causes a all manner of bowel problems! (Worth it though!)

Nope not constipated, bowels seem to be very sensitive to rich/ spicy foods which were causing painful stomach cramps and quick dashes (haha) to the bathroom!

Other than that everything is regular just accompanied by rather a lot of mucas.
That being said I will take that over sickness/dizzyness and other pregnancy related troubles

It's a symptom associated with IBS - www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Irritable-bowel-syndrome/Pages/Symptoms.aspx

Mention your tummy troubles at your next appointment in case they can prescribe something to help with the dashes to the loo/ keep you regular, although watching your diet and any triggers is probably better. I've got IBS but have actually found my regular symptoms to have been better during pregnancy - I've gone the other way and have been a bit constipated! Which is totally common when you're pregnant.

Its a common symptom of ibs...and nout rele to worry about. I seem to burst my piles everytime so bleed alot when i go but thats something i have. To live with
