vbac induction

Hi girls quick question I'm a high risk pregnancy and I saw my consultant today and I was aiming for vbac but she told me that I could only have one pessary for induction and if nothing happens its immediate c section, they won't take me over my due date I did want a c section but as I have a low anterial placenta my midwife told me it was unwise so I opted to try as my ideal was to go natural! But never heard of this before Confused

My consultant told me that inducing for VBAC increases the risk of scar rupture because induction makes the contractions stronger, quicker. I think she said they wouldn't use prostaglandins, would only do a sweep, and if a drip was used it would only be on a very low level. She also told me that VBACs are more likely to be successful if labour starts spontaneously. I've decided to go to a CS if I've not gone into labour by 41.

Ok thankyou, I'm seeing midwife today I'm not sure which is the lesser of two evils a c section where they would have to go through placenta or risk an induction. I honestly dnt think my body would start on its own! Although tryng every trick from 37 weeks

Seems odd that they've said no to a CS due to low anterior placenta. I had that last time and the 'low' bit was the reason I had to have a CS... The anterior bit just means as your placenta is at the front, they'll have to cut through it so you'll bleed a fair bit. I lost 2lt but since they were expecting it, it wasn't a problem.

Where I am, they won't induce if you've had a prev CS at all in case of scar rupture.

Spoke to mw today she strongly advises me to go for c section as I am high risk in any case and plus it would be vbac, but there's a huge part of me that would love to push a baby out! Weird I know! My friend was in similar position but they did hers under general and she nearly ended up having a hystroectomy (sp?). Think I'm going with what I'm told I've changed midwifes and really trust this one as my last one kept telli g me that baby isn't viable and horrid things and she made me feel uneasy!

I had an attempted vbac after emcs the first time. They induced me by breaking my waters then the drip. Had it for around 20(?) hours before I went to section. Nobody was concerned about rupture.
So the answer is, it depends. Best thing to do is get as close to d day as possible. Then hang on for as long as you're comfortable and go with the flow. Too much worry about what might happen is a bit of a waste of time and they all say different things.
