hi guys,
so Im just about curious/worried, I went to use the grill in the oven, the grill hasn't been used for a long time I think but the oven has, when I turned it on there was this vile burning smell with smoke I think it was cleaning out from not being used but it was so strong my nose ended up hurting as if I was having a nosebleed, can this affect my unborn baby in anyway!?

I think the smell/smoke you describe is from something splashing or spitting onto the grill and then when you re light it it produces a strong smell with smoke, mine does it all the time. It will be absolutist fine I'm sure, it's never done me any harm x

hopefully although there was nothing watery in there, the smell was just really bad had me worried about baby lol must just be a grill thing aha thank youGrin

Risks from fumes tend to be women who work in an environment like that or live there. One-off exposure of a few minutes won't do any harm - they wouldn't be things you'd find in your house if they could cause defects with a couple of breaths.

My taste/breathing got more sensitive when I was about 6 weeks, also nosebleeds and nose pain is a common symptom, could be your body reacting when it wouldn't normally but don't worry.

Happened to me in both my pregnancies.

My whole house was full of smoke when I was PG with DS1, it took hours to clear it.

Same happened with DS2; bent down to open the oven door cue a huge smoke cloud engulfing my face.

Both DS's are here safe and healthy.

I know how worrying it can be but it won't harm baby at all Thanks
