hello im around 6/7 weeks pregnant and I was wondering when should I contact the midwife, I have had 3 miscarriages in the past and pretty much Shitting myself. the slightest twinge or cramp i panic, constantly going to the loo to check for bleeding but so far so good. I don't want to waste the midwifes time so would like to know when really should i contact them? any ideas
Many Thanks

Mummy

Sorry to hear about your MCS Flowers
Get in touch with a midwife/GP now to hurry along your booking appointment. You'll then have some dates to look forward to and break up the time.

First three months are hell aren't they.
I've also had 3 MCs - I'm fourteen weeks now, I was constantly looking for blood too.

good luck Thanks

Is there no way you could contact EPU and ask for an early scan given your history of MC? They will also be able to tell you when you need to arrange your booking appt with the midwife. x

oooo I may change my username to redandcheeky!!! Grin
Thank you

I had 3 scans at the EPU I'm sure they will be understanding, they really helped me get through those weeks.

Hope all goes well

You are entitled to extra support on the NHS after 3 losses. It is your right. Do ask your GP for a referral to your EPU!

Even so 70+% of pregnancies after 3 losses go fine, so it doesn't mean anything will go wrong! :)

Is that true squiz ? I never knew that!

Yes - access to tests and/or extra 'TLC' care is triggered by 3 early losses, or 1 or more late. It can be pretty harsh after your second when you're every bit as scared (but TBH your chances of success are so good then- 75-80% that's why they don't bother).

Loads of GPs don't know. I only knew after lots of advice from the miscarriage association and reading up. Luckily as I live in London the hospital gynies all know of Lesley Regan at Imperial and called my GP to tell her the score. But elsewhere people don't know.
