Just a rant really. I don't know what to do with myself. I'm losing the will to eat anything as I know I'll see it again. I've now aversions to most things - especially bread. And I've not put on any weight yet... Worried it's hurting baby as well as me. Have my 26wk midwife appt this week so will see what they say but just feeling very low and wanted to vent to those I know understand. Can't take this much more! Sickness has never been enjoyable but now it's just getting unbearable... Xx

If it helps in both my pregnancies it began to lift at 18 weeks. I hope it's the same for you.

Discovering food again was amazing.

The all day nausea is a total bugger. The prize is worth it :)

Same as oohdaddypig, mine started to subside at 18 weeks so it will happen. Mine made a sneaky return at 27 weeks though so fingers crossed once it goes, it actually goes for you.

Jut eat little and often if you can, and avoid strong tasting food Smile

kels can you see your doctor? there are meds that help with nausea in preg that are perfectly safe. Some have been used for many decades and and have been found in huge trials to be very safe.

The governmental body's guidelines give you a list of safe meds here

Can you drink enough? this is really important, more important actually than eating or putting weight on. The baby takes what it needs from your system - as the consultant put it to me, they are efficient little parasites. But it is important to keep your liquid intake up. Very hot or very cold drinks can be easier to keep down, or sucking ice chips, or (flat) cocacola .... there's quite a few tips on the Hyperemesis thread that work well, whether you officially have HG or not.

Thank you all. I'm going to plead with the midwife this week to give me something to help. It's getting ridiculous... I am managing to keep fluids down, am trying to put of being sick for as long as I can after meals too but sometimes it's just impossible.

My all day nausea an sickness went about 18 weeks too and now I feel great, only mild nausea since then! Hang in there! It feels never ending doesn't it, it was the worst! I did put on more weight as I discovered lots of sugar made me feel better so twixs, caramel digestives etc... Kept me going! And stay away from smells, put all bins out quickly and get rid of your leftover food bin (if you have one)!!

Thank you all, fingers crossed 18 weeks is the magic number! May have felt baby move today which makes the sickness easier to deal with Smile

Just to say don't think midwifes can give prescriptions? Could be wrong...mine wasn't very sympathetic however my gp was fantastic. Been on medicine since about 8 weeks, sadly still suffering at 29 weeks Sad

CinnamonPlums · 27/04/2014 19:51

I had all day nausea for all of mine, and yes I threw up everything that went down.

But it lifted at about 19 weeks for all of them. Hang on in there and hopefully it will go!
