This is my second child so have not done the pregnancy yoga, NCT classes, anti natal swimming, navel gazing etc build up this time around. I'm 37.5 weeks and just realised I'm actually going to have another baby (although appear to have subconsciously bought muslins, new cot mattress etc).

Anyone else in the same boat? What will I do with myself on Monday?

I'm 35 weeks n I finish work next sun ... I know I'll be the same lol

CooCooCachoo · 25/04/2014 23:02

Finishing next Wednesday at 32 weeks (lots of hols to use up), there still seems to be a long way to go to EDD so currently in denial about the inevitable....

Wonder if it will also feel a bit more real by Thursday morning. Also haven't really prepared anything yet and couldn't be arsed with NCT, swimming etc...this time round either (2nd dc's).

You can revel in your not at workness! I'm jealous I still have 5 weeks to go before mat leave. 31+5 today still feels like a long way to go. Definitely more chilled this time with the one I made earlier running around the place causing havoc though.

I had to leave my job for various reasons, and found out i was pregnant a month later, so ive been bored as a dodo and am 28+3 today :/ have had loadsa complications and doc said cus im a high risk its best to wait u til babys born and i recovered to start looking for work again. Ive been doing loadsa needle crafts etc, but now im starting to feel really exhausted so do fek all apart from general cleanings.....least youve had your work to go to :) x

Oh god I've got so much to do on mat leave, slightly worried I should have gone earlier! Painting, laundry, finally sorting through DC1's toys and clothes he's grown out of, batch cooking, getting things together for DC1 to do/play with so he's not bored when baby arrives, get on top of finances and budget, so much cleaning to catch up on... Working full time really gets in the way!

smearedinfood · 26/04/2014 17:03

So far I've go whooping cough immunisation for me (and DC2) planned next week. And booking in the cats for their annual shots. I might just have to book in the obligatory mat leave pedicure.

Last time I had a colour coded excel sheet of all the local baby groups sorted. I know it won't be the same this time around.

In similar boat too-finishing work next thurs at 34 weeks & done no prep at all for DC2! I have fleeting thoughts about things that must do (pack hospital bag for example) but have nothing planned. Although have decided getting decent hair cut should be no 1 priority! Working, being mum already & preggers is so busy & tiring I just can't think that far ahead...

AmIGoingMad · 26/04/2014 20:20

Just saw this in active and its given me a nostalgia hit!

DS here 3.3 and dd now nearly 10 months. I was so prepped the first time but running round at the last minute second time around and wondering when is find the time to get ready at all!

Sorry to crash but wanted to say good luck to you all and enjoy this mat leave with both of your dc when number two makes an appearance! It's a manic but special time!

Exact same boat. Started leave last week, I'm 39 weeks and I've just started thinking about my birth plan and will aim to pack a hospital bag this week... if I can find time in between lunch dates, pedicures, hair appointments, brow threading, meetings with prospective post natal doulas, museum exhibitions, and an evening out at the Royal Albert Hall. If I'm still waiting next week I shall go to the cinema, get a massage, maybe a facial, arrange a few more lunch and coffee dates. And possibly attempt to put together bedside crib which is due to be delivered, shop for a few more baby essentials. :)

McFox · 27/04/2014 23:19

I'm the total opposite! I'm finishing work next week at 35+5 and am super organised, so now I'm making lunch and coffee plans to fill my weeks! Was just saying to DH tonight that I'm glad we're really organised. Can you tell it's our first baby? Grin

SicknSpan · 28/04/2014 07:51

Third baby here. Think we'be got all the "stuff" we need but I know what you mean about it only just hitting you that you're going to have a baby! I have been signed off the last fortnight but kids easter holidays have been in the mix and they go back tomorrow (odd county for hols this yr) so my mat leave officially starts then, nearly 36 weeks. Have to start thinking about what it's going to be like with a baby in the family!

smearedinfood · 28/04/2014 15:47

Yeah it's like "am I ready to start all over again".

DS is all sleeping through and potty trained and uses a fork well.

I washed a really complicated swaddle and I'm like - I might have to practice this on a teddy.
