Hi
I've been TTC for about 9 months and this month I'm currently 9 days late on a very regular 28 day cycle.
Yesterday after visitng a doctor, he said wait a week to do a test but I couldn't so I bought the super drug early pregnancy test (upto four days early) I took the test at lunch and it was a feint positive. I sent pics to my friend and she said she got the same with her baby. So about 3 hours later... I took another one and it was the same. Feint line.
This morning I used a tesco own brand and it says negative.
Doctors are not open over bank holiday ... Anyone experienced this? Should I get another early test ?

Two positives then negative?

Do you know the sensitivity of the tesco one? I've heard the super drug ones are the best so it may just be that the tesco one isn't as sensitive as the superdrug one. Good luck Smile

At 9 days late I would think a clearblue digital might come up as pregnant or not pregnant. I don't know how reliable they are but they do take the pain out of trying to see a line.

Good luck!

I think I must have low hcg levels because on a first response a week late for my period I will still only get a really faint line

I would say you iz pregnant babes

RedandChecker · 18/04/2014 08:59

As the day goes on it's less likely you'll get a positive result.
I would buy a clear blue digital and do it with your first wee in the morning for a more accurate answer, however, a faint line is a line = pregnant

Superdrug are more sensitive than tescos. Perhaps you ovulated late this month? Give it a few days then do a digital test. If that comes up negative and you haven't had a period make another appointment with your doctor.

superdrug and first response are the most sensitive tests you can get, so try one of those again in 3 days. HCG levels should double every 2-3 days, so you will probably see a darker line. Clearblue are not as sensitive.

I got positives with clearblue and superdrug both times after 3days late. So my hirmones must have been really strong lol x

The same thing happened to me. I used early pregnancy tests before my period was due, and a very faint line came up, but with a standard test - nothing. I'm now 9 weeks pregnant! Good luck! Smile

willitbe · 19/04/2014 21:52

Looks like your hcg levels are still low, so probably very early pregnancy. Don't go using a digital one yet they are the less sensitive.

If you want to retry with another superdrug one tomorrow, that would be ok. There is a small chance that it could be a chemical pregnancy, where the pregnancy fails early, but really I think congratulations are in order, you are pregnant.

I would do another test with your very first wee in the morning!

Me and OH only started trying 10 weeks ago and I'm 6 weeks now lol (one of the lucky ones I know) but I knew I was and tested 3 days before my period was due with clearblue digital and that came back negative, I then did a test the day after (normal clearblue test) again negative, waited 2 days used super drug and AGAIN negative!!! SO I did another test the following day with first wee (tesco own this time) and it was a strong positive, doc confirmed pregnancy 3 days later and again another positive result and that was a 6pm sample!

Your levels are probably just abit all over and your clearly early on!

Good luck and congratulations
