PGP/consultant/home birth

Hello, I'd like opinions/advice please..I had quite severe PGP (SPD) with my son which has just kicked in with my current pregnancy at the same gestation - 14 weeks. I was expecting it as am hypermobile.
I have a consultant appointment at the hospital on Monday because my son was born at 36+6 - 1 day premature Hmm complete waste of time but policy apparently. My midwife said she expects the consultant to
discharge me after the appointment.
My question is..should I tell him about the PGP and see if I can have pain killers prescribed? (I did without them last time but it was far from easy or okay!) my biggest fear is that I will remain under consultant care and then not be 'allowed' the home birth I want. Am I better to lie, say everything's fine and go to my GP at a later date if I need pain relief? TIA!

People have consultants for so many reasons from pre-existing medical conditions to serious birth complications to (like you) 'on paper' risks... just having one on your notes doesn't mean your birth is treated as high risk if it isn't. I have BIG YELLOW LETTERS all over my notes but have been told to expect the 'normal' range of choices for birth if all goes well, as my condition is with blood not my plumbing!

I doubt s/he would bat an eyelid at prescribing painkillers, and you'll get the same treatment as anyone else with SPD + an otherwise normal pregnancy.

Thanks, that's helpful. I didn't see a consultant during my last pregnancy and am not really sure what to expect.
