Hi everyone.. Im a newbie on here! Recently found out I'm expecting and I am 6-7 weeks, not had a scan yet and only had my first midwife appt.. I wish I could say this is a happy time but I'm terrified because I have uterus didelphys I have a double womb and 2 cervix.. It's classed as high risk. Has anyone else or is anyone else going through this have you had any helpful advice or have any nice experiences? Also I have done nothing but cry and be a complete nutter the last week or so.. Is this normal? I'm a lunatic!!

Would appreciate any advice

Stacey

Hi Stacey
As its now May I hope that things have been going well for you in the pregnancy. I have bicornuate uterus and incompetent cervix which has sadly was been confirmed through MRI and hysterosalpingogram after I suffered a late miscarriage DS Freddie at 21+6 in January. My only advice to you is to inform all the staff caring for you about the uterine anomalie and make sure they screen your cervix for shortening/funnelling, which they really should do at 15 weeks. My DH and I did raise concerns at 17weeks regarding the shape of my bump however we were fobbed off by the staff, it is my big regret that we didn't insist on being examined.
I've been advised I'll need some form of cerclage suture in future preganancies. Uterus Didelphus and IC vary from woman to woman, not everyone needs a cerclage, but they should really keep a close eye on you all the same
Wishing you the very very best with the pregnancy
Fin Thanks

Hi SJC

I am classed as bicornate rather than didelphys but I have two cervices and a completely septate womb with two chambers but they re joined in the middle.

I had all the warnings and was classed as high risk but I have two draughts, one born at 37 weeks and Thr other at 32. They were not uneventful pregnancies but neither were awful, and my girls are 9 and 14 now.

I'm happy to talk any time about my own experiences, I remember particularly with dd2 I read a yahoo group I think about mullerian anomalies religiously looking for stories that would give me hope for a second positive outcome.

The good thing is that if they know when you are pregnant, the pregnancy is high risk and handled differently, very close eye on you, frequent scans etc.

I'm sorry I missed your post first time round and hope all is going well.
