Placenta with two lobes

Has anyone else had or having a pregnancy where the placenta has an extra lobe? Apparently mine has and the sonographer said to make sure the midwife knew so they got both bits out after the birth.

It seems like there's a risk of haemorrhaging if they don't get both pieces out. The thing is I bled the first time round as my placenta wouldn't deliver with DC.1 and there's a higher risk of it happening again. I was worried enough about it, to now be told that they have to get two bits out and that's a risk in itself!

Am I the only one? Am I worrying unnecessarily? To be honest haemorrhaging the first time was awful enough.

I have two – never had it before so can't share my experience, but my consultant is talking about an ELCS as the lobe is attached across my cervix. He didn't seem overly concerned, just said it would only be a problem if it hadn't been detected and asked if I'd had any bleeding (I haven't).

I have two as well. Had a scan at 34 weeks and told both are nice and high away from the cervix so I can have a midwife led birth as desired, or even a home birth if I want. Midwife said there is a small extra risk of pph ( couldn't quantify) but I can still have delayed cord clamping and a physiological placenta birth. The major concern is making sure both bits come out! I haven't had any bleeding during pregnancy either.
