Am starting to get antsy now, scan is a week today. My last pg ended in a MMC at 11 weeks, amd I have a 2.3 yo.

Im away for easter weekend and one the one hand gladthat ill have the scan before I go away, but if it is bad news, I will have to cancel with the alternative being a horrific few weeks.

Sorry! Positive head on. Anyone else got their first scans over the next week and we can all keep one another entertained whilst we wait?

Errrr2012 · 10/04/2014 09:31

Mine was yesterday, very active baby! And I'm further along than I thought, 13+4 so due 12 oct!! Eeeeeeek! Good luck to everyone else having scans soon x

MrsMonkeyBear · 10/04/2014 10:03

Yay errrr. 5 hours to go. Got a nervous bladder now and can't stop peeing so dreading having to keep a full bladder later.

kcmp14 · 10/04/2014 11:16

Hi Ladies

I also had a MMC in Oct last year, I'm 10 + 1 now. I had a scan at 4 +5 due to a slight bleed but nothing much to see so has HCG bloods done - all ok. Had another scan at 5+6 and saw the heart beat. paid privet at 8 weeks due to going away and was so worried i could MC whilst on a cruise.

I'm now back from my cruise and i'm really paranoid, my booking appointment is 15th so i'm hoping midwife will try to listen to heartbeat (if this is possible?) but my dating scan is not until the 29th April and it seems forever away. I so scared there will be nothing there again, i can tell my partner is trying not to get to excited as he is also scared but it is ruining the whole experience.

I do still have symptoms but not major, i have put a bit of weight on but i needed to anyway so i'm a bit worried although i know they say you don't start showing until after 12 weeks.

Good luck for today MrsMonkeyBear.

Hi kcmp hope you had a nice cruise!

I don't think they listen to the heartbeat before 16 weeks as it is difficult to hear and they wouldn't want to worry you if they couldn't hear it. I have had 3 miscarriages and my early pregnancy unit have been pretty good and I've had 3 scans - maybe give your midwife a ring if your really anxious and see if you can have an early scan.

Good luck Flowers

MrsMonkeyBear · 10/04/2014 16:14

Well all is good. Little heartbeat going like the clappers. Will say only have 1 small glass of water, my bladder was too full. Now just the 8 week wait until the 20 week scan.

Baby mallow has daddy's nose and mummy's long legs

RedandChecker · 10/04/2014 16:46

Congrats monkey! Brilliant news. And good advice! My bladder was way too full at an early scan made it difficult for the sonographer and painful for me.

WhatsTheWordHummingbird · 10/04/2014 16:48

Excellent news MrsM happy bouncy little baby there!

Anyone in tomorrow?

Just dont drink to much and relax as much as possible. Oh and even tho they pop tissue in around your trousers make sure they are old ones. Got the gel every where x x

Matildasmam22 · 10/04/2014 18:08

Mines next Tuesday although I had an early one at 8 weeks due to pain in my side. I have never suffered a MMC but good luck to OP and everyone else who might be anxious Thanks

FirsttimerG · 10/04/2014 20:24

My scan went well - strong little heartbeat and all seems normal! Little Pea was doing the hand jive!!!

kcmp14 · 10/04/2014 20:35

Hi

redandchecker- my cruise was lovely, thank you for letting me know midwife probably wont listen at least i wont get my hopes up. Ill speak to her and let her know I'm anxious she may try to bring it forward i guess as i will actually be more 13 weeks.

congrats monkey and firsttimer lovely news, all my friends have said that time flys between 12 and 20 weeks.

i don't know what I'd have done without netmums, its great having ladies to talk to that are in the same position and stops me feeling mad....ha!

upnorth11 · 13/04/2014 20:02

Thought I revive this thread. Got my scan tomorrow morning and really scared that there's nothing to see or that it doesn't turn out as it should. I am trying to stay away from mmc threads etc and telling myself that so far everything's been fine. Please someone calm my nerves...
All the best for everyone who has got an appointment this week x

Lula2515 · 13/04/2014 20:30

Good luck north I have a private scan on Wednesday and feel exactly the same....have a stupid thought that even if they do something then they won't know what they're talking about because I've gone to a private scan company!!
Just try and get a good nights sleep tonight and think lovely positive thoughts about your little baby in there waiting for you to see! I'll be thinking of you x

inmybelly · 13/04/2014 20:56

Mine is on weds... Half of me is excited to finally see a baby, get confirmation that this is really real and tell everybody. The other half is convinced it will be bad news of some kind.

I guess there's nothing we can do to change the outcome, so may as well be positive while waiting.

3 days to go...

However, I still find myself averting my eyes from the baby section in supermarkets and maternity section in clothes shops... Just in case. God knows why I've suddenly become so superstitious!!

Lula2515 · 14/04/2014 11:05

Babybond just called and messed up my appointment... Wed morning cancelled and moved to this afternoon instead. I feel so sick because I'm so nervous!

upnorth11 · 14/04/2014 14:25

Yay

upnorth11 · 14/04/2014 14:28

All is fine, there is one active baby in there. Soo pleased. Saw everything that needed to be seen and checked. Can go and have a nap now - lost some hours last night due to nerves. Good luck to everyone else who is waiting for their scan x

Lula2515 · 14/04/2014 18:51

Yay congratulations north! We saw a very active baby today too- couple of days less developed than the dates suggest but not too worried because my cycle is so irregular. So pleased I payed for a private scan, I'm a very happy Lula!

HullBird · 15/04/2014 07:39

Scan this afternoon, similarly worried that I'll get there and be told I've been making it all up (very few symptoms). Thanks for the tips on not drinking too much! How long did the process take?

upnorth11 · 15/04/2014 08:13

Hullbird The scan took about 15-20 minutes, then had to wait again to have my blood taken and then yet another wait for a chat with a consultant. All in all it took just under 2hrs but we knew to be prepared for a wait at the hospital as friends told us. It might be shorter for you if you are purely going for the scan and bloods. I saw the consultant due to preexisting back problems.
I am sure you'll be fine. It is great to see the little one!

Lula it is such a relief, isn't it. Great it went well for you!

HullBird · 15/04/2014 08:16

Thanks upnorth, fingers crossed. I've got my 'wee pot' out to remind me to take a sample! it's all so dignified isn't it?!

RebeccaCloud9 · 15/04/2014 15:02

Congrats on all the good scan news! Just had mine and all was good except baby wouldn't get in the right position for nt measurements. The best bit was watching him/her moving around, kicking off the uterus like a swimmer! Gave me the giggles Grin
