Another headache thread- sorry!

Hi everyone

I'm 10 weeks today with my first (I have no idea how people manage being pregnant when they already have children!) and have been suffering from terrible headaches/ migraines. I have had a pretty much constant headache for the past week which has been making work unbearable, particularly as I use a computer all day and have quite an 'intense' job.

Has anybody been temporarily signed off work with similar? Or is the doctor likely to just dismiss me?

Aware I can self certify for a week but having succumbed to a migraine the week before last which resulted in two days off work, I don't want my boss to think I'm taking the p!ss.

I've not had migraines but when my back pain started I signed myself off for a work then had to go back for another 2 weeks from doc. Was finally diagnosed as spd and given support so am back at work. I've found doctors supportive of pregnancy problems- I think you have to self certify before doctors can but I may be wrong...? There may be safe medication that dr can prescribe to stop you having to be signed off?

Sorry to hear about your spd- I hope it's a lot better now you have support.

The ideal would be to find a safe way to treat them because I don't want to let my team down but at the moment this is unbearable and I'm making all sorts of silly mistakes.

I'm just worried that I'll be fobbed off as I don't have the most sympathetic doctor ever; about 6 years ago (last time I went to the docs apart from pill related things) I was in absolute agony with my shoulder so was advised to take paracetamol and ibuprofen but to come back in a week if there was no improvement. I followed this advice and returned and was given the same advice again. It was only at the end of the appointment, when I mentioned having private medical insurance that the doctor suggested anything different.
