Placenta with a low lobe attached - any experiences?

My placenta is mainly anterior but I have a posterior lobe that's low and attached across/near to my cervix. I was pretty unconcerned when the consultant told me as I had an ELCS last time for a low placenta and didn't want a VBAC anyway, plus I've had no bleeding. But should I be more concerned? Has anyone out there had the same or similar and what was the outcome?

I had a succtureant (sp) lobe placenta with my DD who is now 11 weeks old. I read it can be dangerous if it splits/breaks during a vaginal birth and is undiagnosed as veins connecting the two halves (as such) will keep bleeding.

As yours has been picked up on a scan and you are having an elcs then i wouldnt be worried, just make sure its written in your notes. I would mention it fairly early on if you went into labour naturally to make sure the staff dont try to encourage you to have a vbac.

Mine wasnt picked up until after i'd had DD, thankfully by elcs (due to previous 4th degree tear). The midwife was most fascinated by it.
