...or is it just that I'm 32 weeks and the normal levels of exhaustion are setting in?

I did read that the "vulnerable" were supposed to stay indoors. I didn't see pregnant ladies mentioned but maybe we're/I'm more sensitive to the nasty, non-refreshing air?

Thoughts appreciated.

I live in one of the high affected areas and I've had scratchy throat, ears, eyes all week, as well as finding it harder to breathe due to feeling bunged up. Either I'm developing hay fever for the first time, or it's this horrible smog.
dh was playing football outside last night and the whole team were coughing because of it.

I'm not too worried though, people in much more polluted places have healthy babies.

Also I can see some sunshine penetrating today - maybe it's lifting?

Yes, I think it is meant to be lifting. In the meantime, amazing how run-down I suddenly feel (also feel your pain on the scratchy eyes/throat)!

Ahh, my specialist subject (no one is usually interested in air quality).
It is lifting today but has been quite noticeable the last couple of days. It actually happens several times a year but its a bit if a quiet news week so its been done to death.
Being inside or outside wont make a substantial difference but exercise should be avoided if at risk. The only reason pregnancy would make a difference is either because lungs get squashed towards the end or you get more out of breath lugging your bump around. I'm only 16 weeks and haven't had more of a problem than usual.
The rain does help to damp it down a bit so ive actually been glad for the drizzle the last couple of days.
There are txt alerts you can get of high pollution events in certain parts of the country. London and I think maybe Sussex? Check you local council website as if you sign up they let you know when something like this is going on.

Thanks Fairy :)

My throat's been awful the last two days and I feel rotten this afternoon, having been out all morning. Hadn't thought it could be air-related... I'm in Sussex, and it's definitely oddly misty/foggy outside with an orange tinge.

I've been fine (even at 39wks) but poor ds, 2.6yo, is suffering horribly :( he has red rimmed eyes and a nasty cough along with his wheezing (he's prone to viral induced wheezes). Hopefully it'll rain here soon (Norwich).
