Can you help me put into words what it feels like to feel the baby moving inside you. It never felt like butterflies to me at the beginning - probably closer to wind.

But now I'm nearly 31 weeks and it really is getting closer to looking like a scene from Alien being played out on my stomach. I want to explain how it feels in my diary so that I can remind myself in the future (I won't remember, this is baby no 3 and I can't/couldn't have described it after 1 or 2!)

Over to you I hope...

dd1 made me feel like a punch bag on the inside, she kept continually punching me down below, as she was that way up ready to engage.....I suppose you could liken it to drumming on bongos...

Some of the smaller kicks (when I'm leaning forward) feel like a really strong pulse.

Others feel like rolls; stretches; tap dancing on my bladder etc.

Think the Alien is a really good analogy - also having very wobbly jelly like tummy!

not alien!! it feels so nice though, i remember really missing that feeling when the baby was born

Alien feeling is perfect i think lol!! do love the feeling tho!

I can remember the movements I felt strongest was while taking a bath. He would turn to one side and then again to the other, it reminded me of a puppy trying to get comfortable for a nap, but couldn't quite work out how. Then towards the end it was more like a stretching out of limbs, with little feet pushing out making my bump look square.

I remember watching Alien vs Preditor when pg with dd and her moving around was very alien and a little freaky!

Thanks chaps, I can kind of go with the bongos analogy; sadly my wobbly jelly like tummy predates being pregnant (and will postdate it too!) Your descriptions of what it looks like are a good reminder that i ought to include that in my diary too.

But nothing yet quite describes the feeling of the baby moving, perhaps it's not possible?

Bump
Is my problem that there is nothing like feeling a baby inside you?
Am so sad that I will forget what it feels like after this (last) one is out.

I am not at that stage yet with my pregnancy, but my sister always made me cringe with hers, because she described it as like having caught a rabbit in a sack. Why is it older sisters can say things about childbirth which gross you out forever.
