I don't think I will ever go into labour on my own, I still have no signs of any labour just BH.

I have tried/am trying :-
Raspberry leaf tea
Fresh Pineapple
Squats
Bouncing on gym ball
Swimming and aqua natal classes
Limited walking but I am very uncomfortable
Sex but again it is very uncomfortable
Acupunture Session yesterday with no effect

Is there anything else I can try or is it just a case of waiting impatiently.

Jamiesam-Good, thanx for that-thought I might have been a bit left-field (I'm only aspirational middle class!)
Frizbe - would love to be havin more nookie but wi 2.5yr old dd around there is not much chance. In fact think my throat is tense from yellin at her and her dad because I'm so fed up being preggers....

So excited! this was my first ever posting on the net EVER ( no longer a 'netvirgin'. It feels good!)

BabiesEverywhere · 16/08/2006 22:02

CheesyFeet, I doubt you could hug me anymore either

I'll have to upload my 40 weeks plus 3 days belly photo to my blog...I seriously could NOT grow any more belly.

I wouldn't offer to listen to my moaning, or you might end up with constant ear ache and I certainly only have ONE topic of conversation at the moment...'when is the baby coming'...how exciting....not.

Hope you are still planning to visit when Bert makes his/her appearance ?

Aprilgirl you get it in the chemist but i tried it last week and it did not work and the pains were terrible and the sickness uurrrgghhg

Not read full thread so sorry if repeating but.... Raspberry leaf tablets or capsules are MUCH stronger than tea. Get them from a healthfood store.

Tweaking your nipples (gently)..Sounds weird but it gave me really strong cramps.

BabiesEverywhere · 16/08/2006 22:06

'How is your throat?'

Strangely enough the acupuncture lady I visited yesterday was interested in my throat and tongue and said I seemed fairly relaxed.

Yarrow, congratulations on your first posting on mumsnet. It is a great site to be a part of.

My RL friend CheesyFeet introduced me to this site months ago and I lurkered for ages before I dared post anything

Oh I have both the Raspberry leaf tablets and tea but I have been drinking the tea, so I think I'll swap to the tablets tomorrow. Thanks for the advice

Raspberry leaves are to tone the uterus and is a long term solution... it does NOT induce you!

pupuce · 16/08/2006 22:11

Actually this is what a friend herbalist told me:
There is a lot of misconception out there about the tea!
It is a uterine tonic - therefore, it?s not taken until the third trimester, starting with 2 cups per day, building up over a few weeks to 3-4 cups per day. It can also be taken during labour to help build efficient contractions but it is NOT meant to help women who want to ?induce themselves?? it does not ripen the cervix !
Tea or tincture are generally better absorbed than tablets, and more bio-available. However this needs to be balanced out against whether the individual is more likely to take tablets versus making tea regularly! The tablets are moderately useful... but better to take tea.

4 days over due in some countries is STILL not due.... average gestational age is 41 weeks !

BabiesEverywhere · 16/08/2006 22:15

pupuce, thanks for the info.

I have been drinking 3 cups a day since 36 weeks as I really like the taste.

you could try nipple twinddling, it supposed to release the hormone that helps you go into labour...however as mears said, when the apple is ripe..it will drop., put your feet up and enjoy your last few days of peace and quiet!!

myturn · 16/08/2006 22:28

BabiesEverywhere, I have to agree with Mears (sound advice there as always) and Tuttifrutti. I was 2 weeks over with all 4 of mine and was induced each time. I'm not going to say 'unfortunately' induced as I had 4 beautiful healthy girls delivered with a little bit of help. I tried everything like you, but some babies just seem to be too comfortable where they are! As Mears says, please take this time to get plenty of sleep and rest - you will be so grateful for it once the little one arrives. And he/she will arrive eventually!! So yes, just carry on waiting impatiently. All the best. x

Well my waters have broken, so it looks like my wait is over !!!
