Ive decided due to my age to have the harmony test 10 weeks at incase my nuchal comes back high risk but am interested to hear if many mums over 35 have had really low risk scores back?

Also interested in high risk to for balance.

Nuchal measurement was 2.3mm and risk came back as 1:14000. I am 38 and my two previous babies had result of 1:250 (at age 29) and 1:3500 (at age 33) so I was surprised.

Good luck with your pregnancy.

I'm 35. Nuchal was 2.1

Risk came back 1:3000

Good luck OP. I would still have had the Harmony for peace of mind if it wasn't so bloody expensive!

I had a risk of 1:27000 with DS when I was 35.

And 1:46000 with this pregnancy at 37. I was surprised it was lower second time around.

I think the Harmony test is amazing and would definitely have had it done if results had been higher risk. But would have declined amnio or CVS unless the risk was well under 1:100.

I really, really hope that Harmony becomes standard in the NHS - seems so unfair that finances dictate who can and can't access it. But I guess it's always a matter of prioritising in the NHS.

My nuchal fold was 1.3mm
My harmony test results were low risk (less than 1:10,000).
I'm 42. :D

I'm 35. My result was 1/100,000! Apparently they gave me this because they cannot give anything more.

Just had my combined results back and got 1 in 34000, I'm 34 will be 35 month after baby arrives!

Was talking about this with some friends other day, they all commented on my results they all had 1/1500 in there 20's in there pregnancies

I got 1:7700 at age 41

ChicaMomma · 26/03/2014 17:43

i'm 37, mine came back as 1:64,000.

We had discussed it and decided that if it was >1:150 then we'd go for the CVS. I plan on having a second baby, and obviously i'll be closer to 40 when (and if!) that happens, so we have already decided to go straight for the harmony that time. It's a couple of 100 more expensive but i think given my impending advanced age by then, it would make more sense.

I'm 37 and got 1:2900 from nuchal and bloods, and 1:100,000 from Harmony. (Could be 1:10,000... the lowest they give).

By the way he said the age related risk is 1:140 at 37 based only on age. I was terrified to get this result actually so very pleased. Nuchal was 2.1.

Results came back today and was happy but shocked to see a risk of 1:40,731 Nuchal fold was 1.5mm so had been hopeful. Am 37, will be 38 in couple of months. For various reasons my midwife actually tried to put me off having the test but am glad I did now as hopefully it's one less worry x

My results just came in, 1:520. The doctor said she was happy with this as my NF was 1.6mm and my bloods good but just my age (41) that pushed the risk up. No Harmony test available here otherwise I would have liked to have done it.

Harmony is not the standard test yet as it is a very recent test and NICE are waiting for enough confirmed correct results from pregnancies coming to term. I remember in 2010/11 when I was pg with DC1 the first small scale study of it had just been published, so it's early days yet in terms of large scale data and it makes sense for a public policy making body to be cautious about something as important as this.

I had odds of 1/35 at age 38. Harmony test came back clear. So expensive but totally worth it for peace of mind.

Hi I am 41 and 18 weeks pregnant. No amnio. Nuchal fold plus tests gave me 1:9500 and Harmony negative for all trisomy. All the best to you all

I'm 35 and three quarters :) NT result was 1:2199 after bloodwork. They don't tell you the scan result here (Netherlands) but I was staring at the screen and it was around 2.4mm but that was at 13+4 so right at the time limit of the test.
On age alone I was 1:290 which freaked me out.

If the result had been in the 100s I would have travelled to Brussels for the NIFTY which is similar to Harmony and paid. Not available here yet although it will be soon.

Good luck Easter Smile

I had very low risk nuchal fold when pregnant at 39, but decided that I didn't trust the results (and the limited issues that nuchal tests for and the efficacy of the test) and had an amnio in the end (which came out fine).

With DS at 39, my combined risk was 1:4500.
Now pg with DC2 at 42, combined risk came back at 1:17 Confused Nuchal fold 1.1mm, but my Papp-A is very low.
Harmony test failed twice, so am now going to have amnio.

I was 35 for my first and now 39 pregnant with my second. Both times the combined tests for downs came back with 1 in 2000ish. I think this is pretty good for my age. Don't worry too much. Lots of older mums around with ok results.

I'm 36 measurement was 1.6 and the result after bloods was 1:39000 so very low obviously I was very relieved but wasn't expecting it to be so low.

curiousuze · 21/04/2014 07:48

I had a nuchal fold test which came back at 6.5mm - very very high, so it was a case of finding out what was wrong rather than wondering if something was definitely wrong. I then had a cvs to confirm there was a problem. I was 35. I had a problem free pregnancy the following year though.

Report
OneLittleToddleTerror · 21/04/2014 07:50

I have also decided before hand that if I got 1 in 250 or worse I would go for a harmony test. I think it is just how comfortable with the risk factor.

Age 40 I had 1:5,000 with DC3 - because of her large nose bone apparently! (She had a perfectly ordinary size nose at birth)

I'm 35 and my NHS result was 1:73000. For my DS (when I was 31) it was 1:15000 so I am surprised it is a lot lower this time.

Report
Foxeym · 21/04/2014 09:24

I'm 42 and my results came back as 1:19000 which I was really surprised at. I didn't have the test with my other 2DCs as I was in my twenties then
