Midwife has referred me for a scan and consultants appointment on Tue as she is concerned that I'm carrying too much fluid. I'm 34wks and measuring term. She is also concerned that baby has turned breech after being 2/5 engaged when I last saw her 2wks ago.

She was very 'wait and see' but I could tell she was concerned. She said she could feel that baby wasn't that big but that I was IYKWIM.

I wanted to post on here before googling and scaring the wits out of myself.

So, has anyone any knowledge/experience of this? TIA

I have just been diagnosed with this at 29 weeks and measuring 34 weeks. Levels of AFI 34 and been referred to a specialist foetal unit and they cant see anything wrong with stomach or kidneys and I had 2 down's test that were over 6000:1.

I too am worried although baby increased in size from 50th percentile at 20 week scan to 97th percentile (so big!) at 30 weeks.
Could this be a reason?

Got another scan tomorrow but not due until 22nd Oct. Worried about this and still working full time!.

Any advise welcome

I'm new to MN - please can you help!

I was measured at 28 weeks and I was measuring 33 weeks, so was sent for a growth scan - which i just had this morning.
I'm 32w+1 day, and have just been diagnosed with Polyhydramnios. Amniotic fluid index (AFI) of approx 27. I've been referred to consultant and seeing him / her tomorrow.
I couldn't help but Google and am now terrified there is something wrong with me or the baby.
I've had a great pregnancy with no complications, and no sickness at all. All of my pee and blood samples have been normal, and there's been no indication of gestational diabetes.
Does anyone has any advice as to how to help alleviate this / can you? Any help would be most welcomed.
Please has anyone else out there been in a similar boat, and if so, please tell me all was ok in the end?

I am so sorry that you are going through this.

When I was pregnant with my twins - one of the twins has this (I was huge Smile and could barely move).

The doctor scared us with all the potential causes. And I had a million and one tests. But I think in most cases (and in mine), it was just one of those things and everything was alright.
