bed for newborn

Just wanting advice on the best bed for a newborn. I've heard of some little beds that kind of open onto your bed, would anyone recommend these and if so any particular one? 36 wks nearly so need to make quick decision!

U can rent side car cots ( the attach to your bed type) from the nct. They are good if your baby won't settle but maybe wait and see how they do in a Moses basket first? More transportable than a sidecar cot so u can carry him/her from room to room when sleeping. Can be used up to 6 months, then move baby from the moses basket in your room into their own in a proper cot in their own room. Get a cot bed - they turn into a toddler bed for when your baby turns 2/3.

My Moses basket is from John Lewis and has a rocking stand. It's pretty good x

Me and DH have bought a gorgeous Crib - I'm totally in love with it!!

The advice I was given was that babies tend to grow out of their Moses Baskets pretty quickly and so a Crib was a better more long term option. We have a Moses Basket anyway (kept in the living room) but the Crib is definitely much bigger and so should hopefully last until baby is ready to move into his cot.

I have the Troll co sleeping crib and it's great. It's height adjustable and on wheels so it's easy to move about. My dd slept in it next to me then we put the side up and moved her away from the bed, then put the crib in her room.

We have this one, but without the canopy.

I have a Cosatto bedside cot but they don't seem to make them anymore. I'd recommend getting a full size bedside cot if you have space for it in your room, as they outgrow cribs quite quickly and the full size cot can move into their own room and lasts til 2ish.

Agree on the Troll crib. Great for night time feeding and so lovely to be able to reach out and touch ur baby. Not cheap but high resale value eg on ebay

Another thumbs up for the Troll crib. My little one is 4 months now and I'm sad that he might grow out of it soon. I've loved using it.

Bedside crib for me - makes night feeds blissfully easy if you BF.

We've bought the little green sheep snuzpod. It attaches to the bed and you can fold one side down but you can also put the side up and take it off the stand so it's portable like a moses basket. Although baby isn't here yet so I can't personally recommend it as I haven't used it yet.

I was unsure what to go for this time. Had bednest for first but wasn't that impressed. Finally decided on a cheap compact cot from kiddicare for this one (due in 6wks) and have only built three sides so can go up against our bed. I did love the look of the troll crib though.
