Do I really need a pram with carrycot?

First baby due late July. Like the bugaboo Cameleon but live in a flat with zero storage so don't want cot permanently in corner of nursury after 4 months. Also like the Bee but the cocoon's too hot for newborns in summer, and it's not completely flat.

Would like advice on what other people with lack of space at home chose.

Haven't read all the responses, so not sure if this has been mentioned ...

Will you need to get a car seat?

We have a bugaboo bee and we used the car seat with the purchaser without the stroller for the first 4 months. We had the coccon but never used it.

Highly recommend it!

As Tomkat said, you can use the Bee from birth (it's almost flat but totally ok) and you just take the top off the cocoon and use with a light cellular blanket. We had an August baby, and will have a July one this time, planning on doing same again.

Umbrella style folding buggies don't take up a lot of room either - Maclaren Techno XT?

I have a Bee, the cocoon unzips so you just take the top off in summer and yes it is flat with the cocoon in. Storage wise it's brilliant. Or you can get seat liners. My DS wanted to see out by 4 months anyway.

The Bee is completely suitable for toddlers, more so than other prams as its just coverts into a stroller. Lots of prams don't seem to be practical after about 18 months as they're too high or bulky.

I keep my Cameleon in my car as I don't want it cluttering up my hallway. My dd hated the carrycot (reflux) so we mostly used the car seat on the chassis.

Baby jogger? Suitable from birth - I love mine. I didn't use it until wee one was 8 months though.
