And that it turned out okay, did you also have cramping? And did you also still 'feel pregnant' whilst bleeding/spotting?
I ask because I am 6 weeks today and having minimal loss/brown discharge, since couple of days ago. I'm not cramping but have the occasional 'spiky' sharp feelings in womb and although the pg symptoms are less, breasts still intermittently sore and nausea on and off.
I realise I might just be clutching at straws here and that it might just be taking its time to miscarry, but as of yet I don't know if I am. I'm due a scan Monday- which seems like forever away Sad

Another one who had the same symptoms and now have an 8mo - good luck ladies Smile

JonesSchool · 20/02/2014 18:27

Good luck catbus. This is horrible isn't it!
My bleeding got worse, bright red and big clots. No pain???
Still going to the scan tomorrow but I'm sure what the outcome will be, not sure many little beans can survive this much blood lost. Sorry to be gross, there is no blood on a liner, just drips of blood when I go to the toilet and loads when I wipe?

catbus · 20/02/2014 18:31

Good luck jones.. Keep positive- I will be thinking of you tomorrow- please let us know how you get on, if you feel ok about it.
I feel exactly like I do when am about to get my period. And really tetchy with it Blush

Thank you catbus. We saw a little heartbeat, baby is 4.5mm and the midwife has no idea why the bleeding has happened. So relieved. Thank you for your support and I hope you are all ok xx

catbus · 21/02/2014 12:44

Oh that's fantastic news, Kels GrinGrin
Thanks
So relieved for you! Hope you manage to relax a bit now Smile
Can I ask if the 'spotting' was constant and if you had cramping too?

Handholds to all those worried at the moment.

When I mc'd I had no cramps and no bleeding (bar a tiny bit of implantation bleeding around the time I got my BFP). I only knew things had gone wrong from a scan.

This pregnancy which was still ok at the last appointment had the same bit of implantation bleeding around the time of BFP, then a big red crampy bleed at 6 and a half weeks. I thought it was all over for sure. That carried on for 3 bloody weeks (although it was mostly brown blood after the first day or two). It was a horrible time. But I've just had my 12 week scan and things looked ok. On my second scan at the EPU, they identified a sub chorionic haematoma, and you could see blood pooling outside the sac.

catbus · 21/02/2014 15:27

Crikey, Eurochick Shock
That must've been very scary.. But good to know bleeding doesn't always mean the worst outcome. So glad things are going well now for you Smile

Just returned from EPAS, not great news! My womb is empty, they did a pregnancy test which unsurprisingly came up negative! Bleeding still happening but it is now brown. They could see something which measured 3mm but they think it is old blood. Struggling to pick myself up after this one, all I see are babies! In the room next door (we could hear their conversation) was a girl who had accidentally got pregnant whilst on the pill. Having a serious 'why me' day xx

CrispyFB · 21/02/2014 16:01

I've lost loads of blood in early pregnancy before - had clots and everything at just past six weeks with DC1. I was sure it was over as I had full on cramps - I don't get the bleeding without the cramps, and they can be really bad too.

Ironically with my blighted ovum I only had one lot of brown bleeding at four weeks and nothing else - every other pregnancy I have had red bleeding on and off, with cramps, until as late as 8-9 weeks. In my case I think it is related to hormone levels possibly, as the fact it stops around the time the placenta takes over and I tend to have borderline progesterone on my CD21/7dpo tests tells a story. Often I find I bleed/cramp more around when my period is "due" too, if I wasn't pregnant.

I bled no differently with my non-blighted ovum loss than I did with my four successful pregnancies.

I also know women who have never bled in pregnancy, then bled a lot in one with no known reason and all has been fine.

Lots of luck to you and everyone else waiting!

JonesSchool - I'm so sorry things didn't work out Sad Be kind to yourself.

rubyinthedust · 21/02/2014 16:28

Kels - so happy for you! Good to hear that it's worked out. Hopefully catbus will have good news too.

On my end it's not so good. Had my scan today, they were able to see a sac and a yolk but no embryo. The ultrasound technician said that she would expect to see an embryo as the sac was quite large. I've had a blood test done to measure hCG and will need to go back on Sunday to have another one done and check whether the levels have increased or decreased. Will update when I know more but as the cramps and spotting haven't stopped I'm not especially hopeful. Sad

Kels13 · 21/02/2014 16:29

Jones I'm so sorry for your news. Sending hugs and lots of love.

Catbus I had two weeks of brown spotting followed by bright red bleeding. Also had a few sessions of period like cramping.

Xx

Kels13 · 21/02/2014 16:30

Thank you Ruby. Hope things turn out ok for you too xx

mewkins · 21/02/2014 16:49

Good luck for your scan. I have a full range of experiences ... a mc about four years ago with gradually increasing spotting/bleeding; further bleeding and a couple of early scans with dd (now 3yo) and a heavy bleed at 8/9 weeks with current pregnancy which I was sure was a mc as was bright, heavy and clotty (sorry tmi). Also bad cramps. It tailed off after a day but brown spotting that lasted about 4 wks afterwards. I didn't have an early scan I just waited for 12 wks but I still felt pg despite what had happened. This pg has been a bit of a roller coaster so I am just trying to stay positive for a healthy baby. When you have a mc or a threatened one it really puts things into perspective and you just hope for a healthy baby at the end of the day. Xx

mewkins · 21/02/2014 16:51

jones very sorry to hear your news xx

catbus · 21/02/2014 16:55

Oh Jones, I'm so sorry Sad
It's devastating- sending you much strength.
Rubyinthedust- so hard to know where to put your head- on the one hand staying positive and on the other being not so hopeful Sad
I'm staying positive for you though- will think of you on Sunday Smile
I'm not sure what the hell is going on my end- some mild cramps on and off and still brown/ rusty coloured loss. For me it's never ended well when brown, and my symptoms went last week- but then there are waves of nausea and breast soreness in the evenings Confused
Waiting is a real shit Hmm

Jones, so sorry, didn't even see your news in my own post-news haze. Really sorry it didn't work out. Sad

catbus, I find the waiting is the worst. I don't do well with surprises of any kind, I'm the kind of person who needs to know everything NOW so this is hell. Cramps are coming and going and spotting seems to have stopped today (for now anyway!) so have no clue what's really going on either. Will let you know how it goes...

catbus · 23/02/2014 16:55

Any news, Rubyinthedust? Hoping you're ok Smile

OP posts:
rubyinthedust · 23/02/2014 18:04

Yes indeed, catbus, I've got some news and they are good! My levels have nearly doubled in the past 48 hours (went from 14000 to 27000) and the doctor I spoke to was positive. I've got another scan on Friday, I'll hopefully be able to see more then! The cramps have pretty much stopped and so has the spotting. I'm very nauseous today but I'm not sure if it's anxiety-related or just me being pregnant. Time will tell...

I really hope things go well for you tomorrow. Don't lose hope!

catbus · 23/02/2014 19:37

Woohoo!! That's fantastic news, Rubyinthedust GrinGrinGrin
Keep us updated on Friday- really positive news there Smile

OP posts:

Great news Rubyinthedust Smile Catbus hope all goes well for you tomorrow xxx

catbus · 24/02/2014 18:21

Had my scan today. I still don't have an answer Sad
The sonographer can see an empty sac. So either the pg isn't progressing and I'm about to miscarry or it's just too small/early to see. She said, in reply to me not being hopeful, that she has seen it go both ways and that often with bleeding people assume the wrong conclusion.
So I have a rescan in 2 weeks. I will be a gibbering wreck by then. I'm still to go even if it seems I'm miscarrying during that time.
So, really don't know what to think now. My bleeding still stops at night, is mainly brown and light/ medium 'flow'. Currently nothing Confused
I guess I really will have to wait and see Sad

Kels13 · 24/02/2014 20:26

Ah catbus, was thinking about you today and crossing everything. Really hope it works out for you. Can they do a hcg test in the meantime? Xx

catbus · 24/02/2014 21:18

They didn't offer one- it seems the 2 week thing is quite standard, which thinking about it is sensible- to lessen the likelihood of being in limbo again Confused
I'm quite glad I didn't have to do hcg tests as the hospital is a bit of a trek. Still, gonna be a loooong couple of weeks!Shock

catbus · 24/02/2014 21:19

Thanks for thinking of me though, Kels Smile
