accoding to my moving and handling stuff a few years back. You should lift more than a new born unless in an emergency whether preg or not.In pregancy your ligament all relax and things are push out of sinc so its esp important to watch what you lift. hth

My dd2 is no loghtweight. I don't know what she weighs but she's 17 months and gorgeously chunky. I have 3 weeks to go and am still carrying her alot!
I think it's more how you lift and bear the weight to be honest!

I've always thought of too heavy as being what I don't feel comfortable with. Some pregnancies I have helped to move wardrobes. Moved chests of drawers when I decorated one of the bedrooms when pg. However, I have had times during some pregnancies when I have felt tired and also in the 1st trimester (having had several m/cs) when I have only lifted something if it was essential to do so. There always seemed to be an older child who needed carrying around during pg aswell.

nicnack - easier said than done when you have a 2yo with sn who is not walking/climbing etc - how else do you get them down the stairs nad into the car and out of the car etc. I was however reprimanded by a physio for doing that - dd1 would have been about 12 kg or so at that time. SHe did not come up with any other solutions either.....
