Pregnant with a toddler?! Anyone want to chat about what a crap patent they've become?

Oh I'm only 7 weeks but am slumped on the sofa with ds (2) watching cbeebies. The thought of making him lunch is a. Turning my stomach and b. far too much effort!

I feel nauseous and tired all the time and feel like I've become such a rubbish mummy, everything feels like such an effort Sad and surely it's only going to get worse.

When I was pregnant with ds I felt awful for most of it, I think it was only months 5 and 6 that I felt half decent. But back then all I had to do was go to work, sit very still and try not to vomit! And I was surrounded by grown ups who understood and were nice to me!

I feel so bad and like I'm neglecting ds already. Anyone else in the same boat?

34 weeks here, with a three and a half year old in tow. Its an endless loop of Disney films and bowls of Supernoodles in this house Sad

Tory79 · 13/02/2014 18:21

See I think I'd feel more justified if I was heavily pregnant, but I'm not, I'm barely pregnant at all!

Anyone dealing with hyperemesis and a toddler (or even without the toddler) has my ultimate respect. I had moderately bad sickness for the first 16 weeks and I thought I was going to die.

Hope it improves for you soon Iworry Thanks

OnTheRunAndUpTheDuff · 13/02/2014 18:26

Tory the first trimester sucks monkey nuts. I would say its only the last week or two that I've come close to feeling that bad again. There was even a week or two in the middle that was quite pleasant.

Of course, now I'm back to thinking I might die.

This thread is making me feel much better! Glad I'm not the only one. I just with my DD would watch something other than peppa!

HelenHen · 13/02/2014 19:15

32 week's here with a 19 month old... I try to take him out every day but it's tough with the weather so we're stuck in a couple of days a week. I fight the urge to put on the telly unless I need a shower and I let him watch the sleepy hour! For the most part I lie on the couch and ell him to bring me books! He seems happiest when I'm not in the room tho.

MrsRV · 13/02/2014 21:20

love this thread. dh has been off work with DD this week -she's been poorly with a heavy cold & back teeth are coming through - she has been SUPER evil this week to so glad to be at work & out of the way. guilt.

DD is 23 months & I'm 27 weeks.

came home from work today to find dh & dd playing on ipad and cbeebies on... I was pleased by this and said "glad it's not just me but doesn't it make you feel really guilty??". Bastard DH replied they had only just put TV on actually... and when HE was at home they played and went out and stuff. OH FUCK OFF. I felt like punching him right in his stupid head. when I'm at home with DD I don't get chance to play & do nice shit because I do all the frigging housework & tidying up & cooking & dinners & food fucking shopping that he doesn't do because he's always taking DD on fucking JOLLIES.

I think I may just lie on sofa in pjs and eat cake & let DD stay in sleep suit stained from food with snotty nose all day. that'll teach DH.

rant over.

MrsRV · 13/02/2014 21:22

oh... but I can't even lay or sit on fucking stupid sofa without getting backache.

beela · 13/02/2014 22:10

DS is 3.4, I am 30 weeks. So far this week I have trained him to carry a full load of washing upstairs (it took him 3 trips) and got him to pick several things off the floor for me. I have taken him swimming too, it's not all slave labour.

pennyapples · 14/02/2014 18:32

10 weeks and a 13 month old - wishing she was that bit older and more into cbeebies, only really likes waybuloo which thankfully is available on catch up, driving me bonkers though so she is also watching quite a lot of the winter Olympics, friends, and pointless, and whatever else. Some days I've barely interacted, felt so sick. Feel horrendously guilty.

GreatSoprendo · 14/02/2014 18:57

7 weeks pregnant here, with a 10 month old.

Changing his nappy this morning made me throw up. Thankfully I have Waybuloo on a series link, ready to be deployed whenever needed - I think it's going to be coming in very handy......

ZingSweetApple · 14/02/2014 19:20

great

I stretch a piece of scented wet wipe, poke to holes in it (for ears) and wear it like a surgical mask - breathing through it helps reduce the foul smell!

and also I recommend you smile, as smiling reduces the gagging reflex. (thanks CSI!)

do try!Smile

Tory79 · 14/02/2014 19:44

Well ds had a much better day today.... As he spent most of it at mil's house! Think he's coming down with a cold though poor thing.

GreatSoprendo · 14/02/2014 20:00

Thanks zing - the baby wipe surgical mask is a genius idea. Will be trying that tomorrow, alongside grinning to combat the gag reflex. If only he wasn't teething - those runny teething nappies are revolting, and we've had 5 of them today Angry

Catsize · 15/02/2014 06:07

Nearly 40wks, 26mth old boy too.
Have watched far too much TV/DVDs and I can't work out whether to curse or love Rev W Awdry
Have SPD and breaks my heart that son pleads with me to play trains with him etc and I just can't.
He is becoming some sort of nurse too, which I feel bad about. He keeps saying he will ''elp Mummy' out of bed etc.
Only consolation - I am cooking a sibling for him, which he seems pleased about.

Catsize · 15/02/2014 06:08

Goodness knows what they did pre-CBeebies/television!

ZingSweetApple · 15/02/2014 06:28

great

happy to help.
I have had almost 13 years of non-stop practice as I have not had a child without a nappy since July 2001 when DS1 was born.Shock Smile

we are expecting #7 (aka "the last one") this July so I expect there will be at least 3 more years of it.

oh and with very runny poos I just shover them down.

ZingSweetApple · 15/02/2014 06:28
