I am 6 weeks on wednesday and I have been having cramping pains since I found out I was pg. Doctor said to keep an eye on it but it's nothing to worry about unless I started feeling sick with the pain or I started to bleed.

I find the cramps are often worse when I wake up as well or when I stand up quickly. HTH

Thanks Nicki. I think I am worried because I didn't have this with either DS and this baby wasn't planned (but we are happy about it) so I am worried that maybe it's not meant to be.

i had this with my ds (now 14 weeks)
I was told by gp that its normal to get cramps during early pregnancy and that it was probably my uterus stretching. I had these until i was about 10 weeks i think. I would keep an eye on it and if it gets worse or you start bleeding you could contact gp again and maybe ask for a early scan.

Thanks for the advice and reassurance - I appreciate it.

I'm sure thats not the case Schneebly. I agree with Kayleigh, my GP if I started to bleed or feel sick from pain to go straight to A&E or back to the doctor.

I know how you feel I get nervous at every twitch and pull at the moment. Yesterday I even burst into tears when a woman knocked my stomach on the bus! Bloody hormones

I had bad camping with dd & i was also told the same as kayleigh81 it was the uterus stretching i was very worried though because i had had a mc a fews months prior to this pregnancy, try not to worry i now have a beautiful 6 1/2 months old daughter

SlightlyFamiliarPeachyClair · 06/08/2006 08:53

I had it with all three, youngest is now a three year old. So please don't panic, just keep half an eye on it and if you're worried call NHS direct.

X

Thanks guys. People say mumsnet isn't what it used to be but it is still full of caring, knowledgable women (and men!) who want to help and reassure others.

Hope you are ok Schneebly . I haven't had anything like this as only one dd and was just sick all the time. But just wanted to send hugs x

MrsJohnCusack · 06/08/2006 10:03

yes hope you're OK schneebly
have had quite a bit of bleeding/cramps so far with this pregnancy but still here (fingers crossed) at 11 weeks.
and all pregnancies are different - you know that but it's hard to stop worrying!

Hello, i had this problem when i was almost five weeks pregnant, doctors told me it could be the implantation where the baby is attacthing itself,i also bled for a few days... my son was born almost a year ago now he was just two days late!! nice and healthy... so try not to worry but see your doctor if you feel you have any cause for concern. connorsmummy x
