20 Weeks now and last night was woken up 4 times with pain right acroos my bump quite high up, overwhelming sickness feeling although I managed to lay there and not dive into the bathroom to vomit (will avoid being sick at all costs).
Got up this morning thinking it was just bad night and felt better but the pain still seems to linger.
Had a placenta abrubtion with dd4 and am a bit worried it could be the start of the same but at 20 weeks its too early for them to do anything (only thing that stops it is delivery)
Got a scan on 14th August, do you think they would bring it forward if i phone on monday and said what was worrying me?
I know I am worrying over not a lot but feels beter to write it down.

Hi Magnolia,

I would definitely phone the hospital to see if they can scan earlier, or at least get you seen by a doctor. Even if it's nothing, worrying isn't going to do you any good. Can you phone now - the maternity wing should be open at the weekend?

Take care and rest up today won't you?

I would call mw today as well.. Let us know how you get on. xx

Pregnancy is a funny thing, but soooo precious, its best to get sorted straight away, then you can relax, rather than waiting till monday worrying, in turn making matters worse. The midwife is used to patients calling 24 hours a day, its your babies unborn life your worrying about not a common cold.

PHONE NOW if you've not already, could be nothing at all!
Good luck, keep us posted!

Went to doctor who said heartburn, but it doesn't feel like heartburn I have ever had!! Have not slept in 3 nights adn the pain comes and goes but when it comes it is so intense I want to cry
Have gaviscon and parecetamol and thats it!!

Back Friday if no better, supposed to be going camping for 1 night tomorrow. I just want the pain to bugger off.
Anyone use anything else for pain?? I had codiene with twin pregnancy for my back but can you buy it at chemist?

Have a good cry, will do you the world of good, nothing wrong with a good cry! your're in a vulnerable state at the moment, go with the flow

I might join you

That wasn't much support for you was it, but do you feel better? I bet baby thought "whats going on here"

I had bad indigestion when I was pregnant, it kills!
Hope you feel better soon and good luck camping!

This doesn't sound right to me. Even if it is only stretching pain (and I've never heard of or experienced it at the top of the bump, or accompanied by nausea), your worries should be taken seriously as it's not good for a pg woman to worry or be distressed. Sorry to say this, but the GP isn't always the best to ask. Please please do call the labour ward. Even if you can't find your notes, just call the hospital switchboard and ask to be put through to the labour ward. The mws on labour ward are the experts, and they expect to be consulted as a specialist A&E for pregnancy.

I used my labour ward as A&E for pain in pregnancy twice during my first pregnancy, and spent some time there under observation to make sure that all was well with me (which it was). One time I asked to go home when they had decided that nothing was wrong, but the midwife said that she couldn't possibly send me home in such a lot of pain, even if I was otherwise perfectly well. They take pain and the distress it causes quite seriously.

They won't be cross with you - please call them now.
