Occasional kicks at 24 weeks

I'm 24+2 and have been feeling baby for a few weeks, but it seems I have to really force her to move!

I know it's too early to notice much of a pattern, but I'd say I get about 3 kicks in the morning (the kind I can see on the outside of my tummy when lay down) and then the occasional kick for the rest of the day. I'm at home a lot now so take the time everyday to pay attention, but she really doesn't seem to move much at all!

Just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience - I've got an anterior placenta according to my notes but my consultant says that it's not low so shouldn't be affecting kicks.

Do the kicks start off slow like this and build up over the next few weeks?

Thanks Thanks

Hi, I cant be much help other than to say that I am 24 weeks on Saturday and only feeling a few kicks here and there. Ive got a posterior placenta apparently but i dont really know what that means!

Ooh that's reassuring then moomin - everyone keeps telling me how their baby was "kicking the shit" out of them at this stage!

I'm 23 weeks and the movement feels it's quite irregular. I generally get most in the evening or in bed at night, usually if I shift from one side to the other, but some days I feels loads, the the next hardly anything. When I saw my midwife at 22 weeks she asked if I'd felt any movement to which I said yes she then said "but you won't be feeling it every day for a while yet" so I was reassured by that.

I didn't feel many kicks until about 25/26 weeks, and even since then (36 now) I haven't felt movements like some of my friends describe. Poor DH has hardly felt anything at all!!

I had an anterior with ds and he hardly moved after I first felt him at 21wks. Anterior again with this one and she never stops! So I think it's more about the baby. Ds is similarly chilled lazy on the outside Grin

I'm 24 weeks and don't feel kicks every day. Most days though, but only once or twice for a few minutes. I have a fundal placenta. I think on the days I don't feel anything it's because I'm rushing around a lot. I only really feel him when I'm sat or lying still for a while.

This is good to read. It's so hard to know what's normal! My midwife isn't very reassuring either!! Thanks ladies.
