Please please help. Im 9+3. I have nothing to wear.

Im normally slim, flat stomach, smart casual. All my clothes are fitted, slim fitting.

Currently I can get jeans on but I cant do them up. No one knows Im pregnant yet so Im still in the hiding it stage.

I have a bump band which only works with loose tops in dark colours, I have all of about two tops that work with it BUT I hate the bump band it hot, clingy and I feel suffocated in it. I have one pair of maternity jeans But I hate wearing those even more as the elastic band rests on my lower belly and make me feel ill. Even tights rest on my stomach making me feel sick.

What do I wear, I have one dress which works, everything else highlights my fat belly arrghhhh.

Please please don't say leggings, they really are not my thing (chunky short legs and not my style)

Im a lost cause sob. Im too sick to go shopping.

Buy new look under bump jeans, buy online then you dont even need to face the shops! Apart from those, stick with your normal tops and you'll be good to go for some time yet! :-)

See, I'd say if you go for maternity jeans, being short and thin, go for over bump, under bump tend to fall down unless you have the hips to hold them.

As a fellow 'flat stomach before baby' person, I'd suggest you look at a few empire line or wrap dresses, or floater tops once baby has arrived, even if you get you weight back to pre-baby weight, the chances are your stomach will be more rounded for at least a year (with DC1, it took 10 months and dropping 0.5kg below my pre-baby weight to get a flat stomach, DC2 is currently 8 months, I'm 1.5kg lighter than when I got pregnant, but I've still got a belly on me). You need learn to dress for a new body shape.

Try something like: this would work or this, but not breast feeding friendly for afterwards this could be more bfing friendly

and tops - something this shape works, put a long vest top (in one or two sizes bigger than normal) underneath now to distract from the hair bobble holding your jeans up, then afterwards, keep the vest underneath if you breast feed, the top goes up, pull the vest down, and you have a top you can feed in without having to show your tummy to the world while you do it.

Tights, I just cut the waist band. maternity tights always seem to be crap quality for the money.

Hi everyone. I'm glad it's not just me who's having a few problems.

I'm usually a size 14 in dresses, tops etc but as I'm a pear shape I have to normally buy size 16 in trousers so they fit my hips and then use a belt to bring them in at the waist as they're always too big there.

I'm now 20 weeks and my jeans will do up but when I sit down are very uncomfortable. (Just read about the hair bobble idea and will try this - thanks!)

This week I purchased a stack of clothes from New Look's maternity range and have been wearing a pair of boot cut maternity jeans size 16 under the bump. They are ok in that they don't cut into me but are too big and actually falling down! They don't have any belt loops so a belt isn't an option. I think I might need some braces like my granddad used to wear!

I'm taking a lot of the stuff back today to a New Look store but I've kept two tea dresses which are empire line, another pair of jeans in blue (but I feel are too big also) and under the bump ones and a pair of smart black trousers with elastic at the sides and a button thingy with elastic on it, although I'm not sure what this actually does as that part of the trouser waistband doesn't stretch?? (bit confused by it! - any help on this would be appreciated please).

I think there is a huge gap in the market for decent maternity clothes.

Will also look on the sites suggested above - thank you everyone. I hope you all have success in finding suitable, comfortable, stylish clothes!
