It can be a problem, but only if the baby has the protein that you have the antibody for. They will check which antibody it is and then probably check your partner (if he doesn't have it then baby can't so all good - if he does baby MIGHT so they will have to watch bubs to make sure everything is OK)
You may just have the antibody from a previous blood transfusion/pregnancy and baby may not have the protein at all?
Very annoying that the midwife did not discuss it further with you or send you on to a doc to discuss - obviously they are not super worried which is good, but i'd push for an answer just for your piece of mind - really not fair to leave you hanging

I have anti fya antibodies, i got them from transfusions. My partner does not have them so they arent worried the baby will. However, i have my levels checked every 4 weeks and after 28 weeks this will be every 2 weeks. It also means i need particular blood in the event of a transfusion and that high levels (mine are really high) might mask other antibodies. I had two extra scans with fetal medicine too. You shouldnt worry but should be referred to a consultant/nurse specialist for reassurance and advice. The only antibody you can recieve treatment for is resus as far as i know anyway.
