That this horrendous thrush will pass when I give birth! I am 37+2 with DC2 and have had this the WHOLE TIME. The only treatment that the GP will offer is pessary and cream, which as a sufferer (although not to this extent) outside of pregnancy I know that this will never do the job.

I did not have one case of this with DC1 (a DS). Could this be a secret sign that this is a DD? :-))

Sending you sympathy!! I had unstoppable thrush for last 3 m

I find the tablet really helps clear me up so fingers crossed once you give birth you can have that and it will help. Though I have no idea if you can take it while breastfeeding

Dammed phone!!

....for last 3 months of last pregnancy. It went as soon as baby was born, never to return. Was awful whilst I had it though. I found eating lots of live yogurt helped a bit.

Good Luck!

More estrogen with girls so yes there is a chance of that being part of the cause. After you have tried everything that is safe medically the options remaining are natural yoghurt and garlic cloves up your flute. I know, it sounds very glamorous....

have you had your blood sugar checked? recurrent stubborn thrush was my main symptom when i got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 7 years ago.

Tomkat79 · 26/01/2014 21:33

I had an amazing thrush free 9 months with DS...was heaven! Not so lucky this time with DD on her way. If it's not thrush then hormonal changes that just make me soo sore! Miserable isn't it.

You could try the balance activ gels from boots/chemist. Help to restore the balance apparently and are totally safe in pregnancy.

Hope you get some relief soon.

I am the same, had it the whole pregnancy with my first. pregnant again now and got it again. :(

Thanks for the advice and reassurance guys. Have tried the yoghurt but not quite managed the garlic yet Lavender!

Sounds as though there may be some method to my hopes for a pink one this time too!Grin

Not heard of those gels, will def take a look.

I suffered with thrush throughout my pregnancy with DS and expected the same with this pregnancy(DD) but nothing so far touch wood

I used pessaries (500mg of clotrimazole) and creams.

I cut out sugar as much as I could during this pregnancy too which has helped. I hope yours clears up soon, it's horrible!

UriGeller · 27/01/2014 10:36

I had this last time. Take the maximum dose of a goodpro-biotic tablet. A brand called Bio-Cult are really effective. That, and cut down on sugar and use the natural yoghurt (one with cultures not a petit filous!) to cool and soothe your bits.

Whatever you do, don't put tea tree oil on your vag thinking it'll work because its anti-fungal. It bloody kills!
