8 and a bit weeks pg with DC3, have had almost no symptoms but have obsessively POAS Blush

Went to the loo earlier and had some pinky mucous and then some mucous with a thread of blood in it. Briefly felt a bit crampy - poss psychosomatic -but all calmed down for now.

Should I phone MW? Don't want to make a fuss over nothing but also scared :(

Thank you all.

Scan confirmed what I thought/knew, showed 5+5 weeks, should have been 9 or more depending on whose dates you used. Will be rescanned in a week but am sure of dates.

DH is off work today anyway so am in bed, going to try to get some sleep x

So sorry it wasn't more positive news and you still have to deal with the limbo, it's really tough Sad

Hope you got some sleep and are able to distract yourself over the next few days. Keep talking on here if it helps, it's a great support x

Thanks dats. It's fine, it was what I expected. And I know I'm ridiculously lucky to have the DC I do have, so that's helping.

Physically I'm feeling crappy - achey, headache, feeling sick. And I'm scared about what's going to happen next. The support here has been amazing, thank you x

Oh Lana I'm so sorry that it wasn't good news, although it looked bad I was really hoping... I hear the miscarriage boards are really supportive and a great place to talk things through. Also feel free to keep posting here if it helps I'm sure we all will be here to listen Sadsorry againSad

I started typing about the 'what might happen next', yesterday but it felt a bit wrong. But if it helps, my experience was not as hideous as I feared it would be. If it helps, this is what happened:

As I said, I had spotting which just got heavier. It started on the Sunday morning, on the Tuesday I went to my GP to find out what I was meant to do if the worst happened. Then on the Thursday evening as I was getting home from work, I felt a light gush (had been wearing a pad for a couple of days already, thinking this might happen). That evening, I was home alone (DP works away in the week but headed home as soon as I told him) so I texted a friend who'd been through similar, just in case I needed help.

I spent the evening between sitting on the sofa and going to the loo, where the bleeding continued, a bit heavier than a normal period and after a couple of hours there were clots. It wasn't pleasant, but it also wasn't that painful (I took Nurofen with codeine) and overall I felt very calm and my body just took over. And it was a relief when it started happening. Following day, I had cramps about the same as period pain (which I get fairly badly anyway) and took the day off work. Bleeding carried on getting less and less for maybe a week after. And then everything went back to normal in terms of my cycle - really quickly. I know I was 'lucky' that it was as straightforward as it was, and I'm grateful for that. I also managed to conceive 6 months later (now 28 weeks) - and I'm 41, so especially grateful I could manage it again.

Try not to worry too much about the next bit because you will cope, I promise. The mc board on here is hugely supportive too. Hope you're doing ok, I really do feel for you.

I'm so sorry to hear your news Lana. :( Be very kind to yourself and give yourself time to recover, both physically and emotionally. You might find that you feel really washed out for a bit after this, and an iron supplement (like spa tone) and some multi vits can help.

Regarding the actual 'passing', you may not find it too difficult as it looks like the pregnancy stopped quite early on.

My experience (with a 7 week pregnancy) was heavy bleeding for one day (like first day of period) but no cramps, then sudden cramps (but no worse than period) and passing the pregnancy, and then just very light bleeding (no pain) for a few days after. Nothing was too traumatic. It just felt a bit sad, but also a relief when it was over.

My period came back exactly 28 days after my mc and then I conceived again on the cycle after that (healthy pregnancy).
