Aarghhhhh help me, reassure me I'm not mad! I am a born worrier, I panic over everything! Anyway in a moment of madness I bought a blood pressure monitor to keep a check on my blood pressure! I'm getting obsessed if it's a bit high I start panicking then it goes higher then done days it can be a bit low and guess what I start panicking about that too! I'm only ever happy if it spot on! My blood pressure does fluctuate quite a bit and I know that's norm in preg but I just can't stop!!!!!!!!!

What do you mean 'spot on'. There is quite a wide range of 'normal' in blood pressure. In the nicest possible way, are you sure you have the skills to interpret the numbers you see (I know I don't!).

Put the thing in a cupboard!

Step away from the blood pressure monitor and enjoy your pregnancy x

I know, in honesty I not got a clue what is ok I'm just going off the chart in the book and the readings guide on the monitor!!! I'm a nut job when pregnant!!!!!

I think you need to give the monitor to someone so it isn't in the house, quite frankly. Smile

Yeah I know you're right! Thank you x

Throw the monitor away!!!

I used to monitor my blood pressure/heart rate but that was only because I have a pre-existing condition and I was expected to have problems. Things went a bit off kilter at 20 weeks and I had to start on beta blockers, but now that things have stabilised I don't check it anymore. Well, I've checked it about 4 times in the last 11 weeks. Like I said though, this setback was expected due to a condition I already had, there's no reason to anticipate problems in a normally healthy-hearted woman.

There are so many things that can affect your readings and unless for medical reasons you have been told you need to monitor yourself then you need to remove the machine from your house!!! There's no temptation then!!
