And i am still here waiting. Was out for a hot curry last Saturady.Have munched my way thru 3 pineapples this week.Had a bit of nookie.A membrane sweep on Friday morning(lots of show and lots of niggles Fri and Sat)and now nothing.Another hot curry on Friday night.

What else could/should i be doing?

If i was going into hosp i would happily go in and be induced as mw says my cervix is really ripe and favourable and would be fairly easy to start things off.

But i am planning a homebirth so want to wait and have my lo here if poss but things need to get moving so please please pass on all your tips/tricks ladies and get me going.

Thanx xx

A long walk worked for me: I went for a walk the day before my due date and had a big long chat with the baby. That night waters broke and she arrived on her due date!

i tried everything. raspberry leaf tea and various other herbal stuff which i can't remember now. also went for several sessions of acupuncture. none of this worked! did the nipple stimulation thing, had sex etc. etc. but still no joy.

then on the day i went into labour i went for a really long walk - too long really - i was in agony for the last 1/2 hour on the way home. when i got in all i wanted to do was lie in a hot bath (this was in December'04), but our boiler pilot light had gone out without us realising so we had no hot water. i was so distraught that i cried for about 1 hour, which is so unlike me. then a few hours later it all kicked off.

i'm not sure if it was just the right time, or down to the long walk combined with the stress i was feeling due to no hot water, but it worked.

my father-in-law comes from a farming background, and he swears by the walking thing, taking animals for a long walk is a sure way to enduce labour - aparantly!

my MIL has suggested orange juice and castor oil (I am in same boat as Algach, a few days behind though). Very tempted to go and get some. Isn't it just that it gives you violent diaorhea (sp) though that kicks off labour? Not sure if I fancy that......
