hi when i went for my 28 week appointment at midwife , she told me my baby was smaller in size than it should be and is sending me for another scan has any one else been through this and should i be worried thanks in advance

Yes, it happened to me but only because baby was lying transverse so my bump was smaller. All his measurements were bang on average and he was fine. Fast forward to 36 weeks and he's still transverse so it looks like I'll have to go the ELCS route, which I didn't want at all.

But bottom line is don't worry, and if the small bump is because of a transverse baby then start looking at the Spinning Babies site now!

In my last pg I was told at about 32 weeks that my baby was small. Had extra scan and told his head had stopped growing. I didn't know what to think tbh. He came naturally at 38 weeks and was 100% perfect just a little small (5.7) with a little head that quickly caught up. I'll tell you now, with a natural birth there's nothing wrong with a little'un, especially a small head!

Sorry OP, ELCS = elective c-section, as you can't birth a transverse baby!

Yes. Baby was 8lb 14oz ( so was v big ) when born but I was referred for scan as bump measurement was small and didn't grow for a few weeks.

I guess I'm saying don't stress unless something shows up as a problem as bump measurements are unreliable so the midwife needs to refer you for a scan as a precaution.

yes, i had the same from early on.

the good thing is that they have spotted it and can keep an eye on you.

it turned out i had IUGR due to a calcified placenta, i delivered my baby at 36 weeks due to ELCS.

she was a tiny 4 pounds, but perfect in every way.

I'm consistently measuring two weeks small for dates. My MW doesn't seem concerned at all as I'm still following a line. Which is an arse- I wanted another free scan

Yes, my first was predicted from measuring to be a 4 pounder, by scan predicted to be a 5 pounder. Came out nearly 9 pounds... I was tiny but it was my build and abs.
